    On this episode of FAM, we’re diving deep with a truly multidimensional artist, DJ Spooky, That Subliminal Kid, born Paul Dennis Miller. An illustrious figure in the electronic and experimental hip-hop scenes,DJ Spooky’s career is a tapestry of rich, cultural dialogues, weaving through music, philosophy, and technology. His discography includes his groundbreaking debut album ""Songs of a Dead Dreamer”, named one of the 10 best trip hop albums of all time by Fact Magazine—in addition to collaborations with avant-garde and mainstream artists alike—from Sonic Youth to Metallica and Ryuichi Sakamoto.

    Not just content within the bounds of music, his influence stretches to visual arts, having been featured in major international exhibitions like the Venice Biennial and the Whitney Biennial. In 2012 he was the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s inaugural artist-in-residence and in 2014 he was named National Geographic Emerging Explorer.

    David, founder of the music production company YouTooCanWoo, has created audio identities for major brands like NBC, ABC, and MTV. In addition to an impressive portfolio of commercial endeavors, David also co-produced MGMT’s debut EP “Time to Pretend”—and, alongside his brother Robert, started the band French Horn Rebellion.

    Robert isn’t just the horn player in the band, he’s also an in-demand writer and producer, having remixed artists like Beyoncé and produced for folks like Purple Disco Machine. Robert leads the label Toucan Sounds, which was nominated for 2023 breakthrough label of the year by DJ Mag.
