Fatherless children become at risk in higher numbers for everything from incarceration to chemical abuse to suicide. With more than 72% of African American children being born out of wedlock, the impact of fatherless homes in the black community isn't just a trend, it's an epidemic! There needs to be more people of color in therapist roles in their communities, and all communities of people of various nationalities: where people who suffer from and are dealing with mental health can trust those that look like them, feel safe and protected and know that their best interest is in the hand of that therapist.
Children living with a mother only is the second most common U.S. living arrangement, a number that has doubled since 1968. About 7.6 million (11%) children lived with their mother only in 1968 compared to 15.3 million (21%) in 2020 and the numbers have gotten worse.

Anxiety can trigger depression and other behavioral physical and mental health issues. It is especially hard if you are dealing with other personal, work, relationship, or family-related issues. It is okay to ask for help.
