    Susan Kee is a Korean American writer, Korean War historian, and advocate for Korean War Veterans and Gold Star Families. She is devoted to making known the heroes and history of the Korean War, which is often referred to as the Forgotten War. Her parents were young teenagers during the Korean War. Susan’s father and granfather's family were Christians and also landowners in Pyongyang North Korea before the Communist takeover of North Korea. Her father’s family became targets of North Korean communist dictator, Kim Il Sung and thus escaped to South Korea in 1949. During the Korean War, her father enlisted with the Republic of Korea’s Army and fought alongside American soldiers during the war.
