From Bengal to Disco Jazz with Rupa Biswas

  • Resumen

  • In today's episode of Half-fry and Toast I speak with a Disco Queen from the '80s -  Rupa Biswas. She recorded an album back in the 1980 with Indian Classical legend Aashish Khan.  Recorded in a studio in Calgary, Canada her album was a perfect blend of classical music with balearic disco beats that get you right in the groove anytime, anywhere. I was so excited to connect with her and hear about her story of how her album got accidentally famous with her song hitting global charts across France, Spain and other European cities and the leading DJ Caribou, also known as Daphni playing it in his global sets. This interview was a total joyride for me, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Hear till the end to get a taste of her amazing, whimsical, disco music.
