  • Resumen

  • In this episode, we dive into an eclectic mix of theatrical productions, from a darkly comedic tale set in 1553 to a thrilling revival of a club musical and a timeless haunting love story. Join us as we explore The Bounds, Closer To Heaven, and The Phantom of the Opera. Plus, Darren has an exclusive chat with Jon Robyns, the star of The Phantom of the Opera.

    The Bounds

Step back to the year 1553, the true Golden Age of English football. It’s the Allen Valley Whitsun Game, and men will die today. As the big game rages for hours, Percy and Rowan find themselves far from the action, only to be joined by a stranger with tidings that will shatter their world. As time passes and night falls, the great chain of being collapses, and they’re losing the bloody football. Written by Stewart Pringle and directed by Jack McNamara, The Bounds is a darkly comedic tale of national divides, folk horror, and the end of the world as we know it.

    Closer To Heaven

Let us take you back to the Millennium for the night of your life. Suddenly, what was wrong seems right… The Turbine Theatre proudly presents a new production of this adored club musical. With a book by one of Britain’s most celebrated writers, Jonathan Harvey, and the iconic sounds of Pet Shop Boys, this promises to be anything but old-fashioned. Closer To Heaven features an original club score by Pet Shop Boys and originally premiered at the Arts Theatre in 2001. The Pet Shop Boys are the UK's most successful pop duo, having enjoyed 12 Top Ten studio albums and 40 Top Twenty singles.

    The Phantom of the Opera

Experience the thrill of the West End’s most haunting love story, starring Jon Robyns as The Phantom, Lily Kerhoas as Christine Daaé, and Joe Griffiths-Brown as Raoul. The Phantom of the Opera is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 46 countries and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes Music of the Night, All I Ask of You, Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, Masquerade, and the iconic title song.

    Exclusive Interview

Darren has an exclusive chat with Jon Robyns, the Phantom himself, who shares insights into his role and the magic of The Phantom of the Opera.
