  • Springbok Icon: The Making of the Legendary Frans Steyn
    Aug 26 2024
Frans Steyn made his Springbok Test debut at the age of just 19. Within a year he had established a reputation as an accurate long distance kicker and owing to an injury, he was thrust into the starting XV and played his role in helping the Springboks win the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Steyn’s dazzling skills further contributed to South Africa wining the 2009 series against the British and Irish Lions and then followed that up by winning the Tri-Nations, including three consecutive wins over the All Blacks. Sadly a contractual dispute saw Frans exit the international stage under Heyneke Meyer. He did return briefly under Allister Coetzee before Rassie Erasmus brought him back in 2019. By now Steyn was a senior player and he embraced this role passionately as he helped the Boks to glory at the Rugby World Cup in Japan. In this exclusive interview he shares his remarkable story with us in typically candid fashion. Buckle up for a rollercoaster ride! Patreon · Tic Tac Sports Betting

  • Pocket Rocket: Brent Russell’s Colourful Springbok Career
    Aug 19 2024
Brent Russell made his Springbok debut in 2002 and in just his third appearance announced himself on the world stage with a magnificent solo try against Australia in Brisbane. Unfortunately opportunities would be few and far between for the man who would become known as the Pocket Rocket. He did manage to make another memorable impact in the 2003 Tri-Nations, also against the Australians, at Newlands when he put in a man of the match performance. In this exclusive interview, Brent looks back on the highs, the lows and the frustrations during a colourful Springbok career that saw him miss the 2003 World Cup through injury, and be treated more as a nice-to-have in the squad owing to his versatility, rather than a prized asset. Here you will hear directly from Russell, as he talks frankly about his time in the famous green and gold. Tic Tac Sports Betting · Patreon

  • Rugby Royalty: Springbok Double World Champion Os Du Randt
    Aug 5 2024
Os Du Rand is a living legend of Springbok rugby. In 1994 Os made his Bok debut after being told a few years earlier he’ll never play rugby again. Less than a year later he helped South Africa become the 1995 Rugby World Cup champions and his name would be forever immortalised. Injury hit again in 1998 and although he played a role in the third-place finish at the 1999 Rugby World Cup, Du Randt’s injuries had taken their toll and he decided to retire. But you cannot keep a good man down. In 2003 he returned to domestic rugby with a doctor telling him he had one or two good years left in his knee. Miraculously in 2004 he was back in the Springbok setup and instead of one or two good years, Os went all the way to the 2007 Rugby World Cup. And in the most wonderful of fashions, his last match in the famous green and gold was the final where he would become the first South African to win the Webb Ellis Cup twice. In this honest and fascinating discussion Os looks back on his incredible career and gives us a behind-the-scenes insight into what it takes to become a champion and ultimately Springbok rugby royalty! • Unappreciated Achiever: Springbok Coach Heyneke Meyer’s Story
    Jul 29 2024
After missing out on the Springbok coaching job in 2008, Heyneke Meyer fulfilled a lifelong ambition of becoming the Bok boss four years later. In this fascinating discussion Meyer opens up about what really happened during an exciting period in South African rugby. Heyneke led the Springboks to consecutive unbeaten end-of-year tours – something not achieved since 1996/97 and not again since. Meyer also led the Boks to record wins over Argentina and Australia but fell short against an all-powerful All Blacks side. In this video he explains why that was the case. Unfortunately, Heyneke also came under pressure for a first-ever defeat to Japan but here he sheds light on what really happened behind the scenes. Perhaps in years to come he will be appreciated for overseeing a relatively successful period in Bok rugby. And maybe this video can go some way towards helping give Meyer the credit he deserves. Buckle up for an exhilarating ride! Patreon · Tic Tac Sports Betting
