  • Episode 16 - Liza Zhurkovskaya - Art, Empathy and Community
    Jan 2 2021

Liza Zhurkovskaya, (Curator on the Go)  is a Toronto-based Art Curator and Art Advisor. Liza works at the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District and she owns her own online gallery, Kefiart Gallery. She is also an agent and a coach for artists. Her goal is to welcome everyone to the art world and help people collect, buy, and commission art, stress-free.

We recorded our discussion during the first lockdown of 2020. Liza is bringing her passion and vision to the art world with a strong focus on community engagement. She clearly has a rare sensitivity to human emotions and inner life and I love how she finds ways to activate these invisible facets when curating exhibitions.

  • Episode 15 - Sperry Andrews - Unity Consciousness
    Aug 5 2020

Sperry Andrews is an artist but he is foremost a scientist and founder/director of the Human Connection Institute. He and a team of international researchers have found irrefutable evidence that the whole of humanity, every man, woman, and child, is linked both psychologically and physiologically by our innate capacity for being - collectively - conscious. In collaboration with neuroscientists and film producers, he is working on creating easily accessible experiences of oneness to give a unity experience to anyone willing to participate.

Sperry has given presentations on human interconnectedness and his institute's projects at the United Nations, World Business Academy, Duke University, University of Connecticut, U.C. Berkeley, and the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach. His articles have appeared in Cosmos and History, Kosmos Journal, Frontier Perspectives, Alternative Therapies and Exceptional Human Experience.

Our discussion will take you 'in the field' as Sperry transmits a state of unity consciousness so well through sharing his experiences and visions for global awakening.

Today I am really happy to interview Halea Isabelle Kala from Berlin. She is an artist, a curator, a director and a cultural producer. She recently put out a documentary called Transmodernity which is so timely with the global event of our times. Her movie is really a piece of art in itself and it has been presented in numerous film festivals around the world.

I invite you now to listen to our discussion where we talk about art, intersecting fields, how we can overcome individual and collective trauma, about our connection to Mother Earth and especially about the skill of elasticity in our capacity to adapt to the new emerging grounds that are before us.

  • Episode 13 - Wisdom from a Nomad Artist - Syama Bataillard
    Mar 18 2020

Syama is well-known in France for her work with mandalas. She is a full-time artist and nomad and teaches her knowledge along her travels in European francophone countries like France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Syama is a beautiful example of what a truly accomplished woman is. I admire the way she has put her artistic gifts forward to the service of our world. As a nomad and an artist, her life may sound to you that she experiences exceptional freedom, but wait don't romanticize too fast. You will see in this interview that her free lifestyle comes with a strong dose of courage and wisdom. The reality is that she is a single mother homeschooling and wandering in a camping car while making a living from her art!

  • Episode 11 - Cognition, the Sacred and the Art of Not Knowing - Bruce Rimell
    Dec 19 2019

Bruce Rimell finds himself in no artistic category (between outsider, visionary, anthropologist, queer, sacred and graffiti art!) and defines himself with the Greek word 'Aporia' which means 'don't know mind'. He is an internationally-exhibited visual artist, poet and independent researcher.

His research specializes in the cognitive science of religion, the origins of symbolic culture in the African Middle Palaeolithic and the cognitive foundations of artistic experience.

Bruce was born and raised in the county of Wiltshire, it's a landscape full of megalithic magic and he explains how this landscape helped him retained a sense of animism and wonder that we all experience as children.

For as long as he can remember he has suffered with migraines that have a visionary nature. I find Bruce interesting because he shares these experiences with a very scientific neurological approach and he often says that this is what drives him to explore the origins of both humanity and the universe.

  • Episode 10 - Fearless Creating - Eric Maisel
    Dec 2 2019

This conversation is for anyone who realizes that expressing our creativity is an act of courage especially in the world of distraction we live in today.

Eric Maisel is the author of more than 50 books. His most popular books include Fearless Creating, The Van Gogh’s Blues, Coaching the Artist Within, and The Atheist’s Way.

His expertise embraces anything related to creativity and the creative life. He founded the profession of creativity coaching with training and certification programs.

Eric has a background as a psychotherapist and he extends his interest in creativity to issues of life purpose and meaning; mental health and critical psychology; he also writes and teaches about parenting in a “mental disorder” age.

I've came to know Eric while embarking in his creativity coaching certification. What I particularly liked about teachings is that he addresses the human creative life as a holistic journey. When we come in touch with our innate creative force we open up an enormous potential for personal growth. He addresses the practical, psychological, spiritual and even political realms of the creative life.
