    Girls Gone Hallmark is celebrating Christmas in July with a special lineup of fan-favorite movies recommended by the Girls Gone Hallmark Facebook group. Up next is “The Spirit of Christmas.” Although it’s not technically a Hallmark movie, it has earned a special place in the hearts of Hallmark fans. Will this much-discussed film starring the “hot ghost” bring holiday cheer or leave you cold? Tune in all July to hear your favorite Hallmark podcast duo review some beloved Christmas movies!

    News and Notes About “The Spirit of Christmas”
    • The Spirit of Christmas originally premiered on Lifetime in 2015.
    • David Jackson directed “The Spirit of Christmas.” David has 73 directing credits including soapy dramas like “Summerland” and “One Tree Hill.” He appears to have one Hallmark movie credit on his resume called “Last Vermont Christmas” from 2018.
    • Tracy Andreen wrote “The Spirit of Christmas.” Tracy has 32 writing credits, large percentage of which were for Hallmark. Hallmark titles include “Friends and Family Christmas,” “Sweeter than Chocolate” and “The Holiday Sitter.”
    • Jen Lilley stars as Kate. Once a Hallmark darling, Jen has moved on to Great American Family. She has 64 writing credits and recently reprised her role as Theresa Donovan on “Days of Our Lives” where she has appeared in 430 episodes.
    • Thomas Beaudoin plays hot ghost Daniel. Thomas has 25 acting credits and after this movie he appeared a supporting role in the Hallmark movie “Love on the Slopes.” He is fluent in both English and French and has had several French speaking roles.
    • Kati Salowsky plays Lily. Kati has 37 acting credits but has never appeared in a Hallmark project. Her most recent appearance was on the TV series “Good Trouble” in 2022.
    • “The Spirit of Christmas” was filmed at the Harding Allen Estate in Barre and the Proctor Mansion in Wrentham, MA. No faux snow here. Production had to contend with below freezing temperatures and fuel lines freezing in their work trucks during filming

Among her 13 directing credits, you’ll also find “Unexpected Grace,” “Five more Minutes,” “Right in Front of Me,” and “Betty’s Bad Luck in Love.” Linda Lisa will also direct the forthcoming “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” movie #13Joie Botkin wrote “Cranberry Christmas.” Joie has 23 writing credits, all for Hallmark. Notable movies include “3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost,” “Mid-Love Crisis,” and “Beverly Hills Wedding.” Nikki DeLoach plays Dawn. Nikki has 72 acting credits and can be seen as cursed caterer Goldy in the “Curious Caterer” franchiseBenjamin Ayres plays husband Gabe. Benjamin has 98 acting credits and most recently appeared in “Love & Jane” for the Hallmark channel. Outside of Hallmark his credits include a small recurring role on “Suits” as well as 83 episodes of the series “Saving Hope” as Dr. Zachary Miller. Marci T. House plays Pamela. Marci has 108 acting credits, although only one Hallmark appearance on “The Winning Team” within the last four years. Other roles include “Devil in Ohio,” “One of Us is Lying,” and “Timeless.” Jennifer Higgin plays Grandma Gladys. Jennifer had her first role in 1996 but didn’t act again until 2010. For Hallmark she has also appeared in “Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas,” “Five More Minutes,” “The Christmas Contest,” and “Checkin’ It Twice,”“Cranberry Christmas” was filmed in Vancouver in August 2020.From Heavy.com “DeLoach said one of the craziest parts was dealing with the mosquitoes, TV Goodness reported. She said: “I had never experienced mosquitoes like that… During my closeup, a mosquito lands on my face and is just fighting me. [It felt] like Vietnam. It was so hot.”From Heavy.com “Ayres told TV Goodness that it was his first job back after the pandemic, and that was a little scary. He said: “We had intimate scenes and we were getting [COVID] tested right before. And I think the fact that there was a real tense energy about being back allowed us to take that into the film and really play it.
