  • The Real Meaning of Jeremiah 29:11
    Jul 22 2024

Does God have plans to prosper you in all areas of life? Many will try to use Jeremiah 29:11 to tell you just that. But that is not the meaning of Jeremiah 29:11!

This is a popular verse that is used at graduation times and one we cling to in hopes that in the future, God has plans to prosper us. Many will say that our job is to have faith that God will make these plans happen, and if they don't then that is because we don't have enough faith.

Don't be deceived. God does have good plans for you, but those plans might include suffering and not prosperity in all areas of your life. Jesus is more concerned with you knowing and experiencing Him as your life rather than finding life in prosperity.

  • Repent and Believe - The Real Meaning (Mark 1:15)
    Jul 15 2024

Many people today will say that salvation is a 2-step process of repenting from your sins (grieve, turn, commit to stop sinning) and believe. But the Greek word metanoia which is translated repent simply means to think differently or change your mind (Strongs 3340).

Repentance and belief should not be seen as separate items in response to the gospel, but together they signify belief in Christ. To believe in Christ is to change one’s mind about Christ and trust Him alone for salvation.

Mark 1:14-15,,, 14 After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15 “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

  • The Real Meaning of Matthew 5:17
    Jul 8 2024

What is the real meaning of Matthew 5:17? Jesus said that He didn't come to abolish the law, so does that mean that we still live by the law today? No! Jesus fulfilled the righteous demands of the law, and now under the New Covenant, we are dead to the law and no longer live by the written code but by the Spirit.

Matthew 5:17-20 explained... “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
