在世界各地數百萬戶與仁人家園合作的弱勢家庭都受到氣候變化的影響，包括颱風、洪水、野火、龍捲風和乾旱等常見及嚴重的天氣現象。隨著香港溫度上升、降雨量更頻繁天多，這些現象對弱勢社區及家庭影響最大。在這次的討論，我們邀請了專家客席講者討論不同創新的發展，談論氣候智能型解決方案，減輕家庭和社區正面對的問題。

The millions of families Habitat for Humanity partners with around the world are often among the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change, which include increasingly common and severe weather events such as typhoons, floods, wildfires, tornadoes and droughts. As we start to experience higher temperatures, more frequent and heavier rain in Hong Kong, vulnerable communities are most impacted by these negative effects. In this session, we will hear from expert speakers about some exciting and innovative developments to provide climate-smart solutions, which are being created to alleviate these impacts at the household and community level.

On Monday 3 October, we held the third webinar in our Housing Series and we were thrilled to be joined by Ricky Chu Man-kin, Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission and Susan Araka, Housing Development Expert at the Regional Office for Africa, UN Habitat, Nairobi. The session was moderated by Karen Lee, Chartered Town Planner and Project Manager, Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Karen also sits on our Public Policy & Programmes Committee. In this important discussion we explored the housing inequalities faced by cities globally and how these could be addressed in Hong Kong.
