  • Brett Underwood talks with poet Richard Newman about living in far off lands and his new book Blues at the End of the World. They also discuss Newmans stint as Editor and Executive Director of River Styx in Saint Louis.

    "Richard Newman is the author of three previous books of poetry: Borrowed Towns (Word Press, 2005), Domestic Fugues (Steel Toe Books, 2011), and All the Wasted Beauty of the World (Able Muse Press, 2014). Domestic Fugues won the Steel Toe Books Formal Poetry Award. He is also the author of the novel Graveyard of the Gods (Blank Slate Press, 2016). His poems have appeared in American Journal of Poetry, Best American Poetry, Boulevard, Crab Orchard Review, Literary Matters, Poetry East, Tar River Poetry, and many other periodicals and anthologies. For over 20 years Richard served as Editor and Executive Director of River Styx. Currently he is Assistant Professor of Creative Writing and World Literature at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco, where he lives with his wife and son."
