  • Regulating Emotions with Nicole Zasowski & The Glass House
    Jul 19 2024

It's time for another crossover episode with one of our favorite Lifeway podcasts — The Glass House with Ben and Lynley Mandrell! If you don't remember, Ben and Lynley were our first guests on the His Glory, Her Good podcast. To say we are big fans of them and their hearts would be an understatement.

On today's show Nicole Zasowski describes to us what happens when we are operating in our pain cycle, how we can regulate our emotions, and why the simplest of questions can push us over the edge. A very important topic to address while in ministry!

Nicole is a marriage and family therapist, along with being a full time mom and wife. Actually, one of our most popular episodes is when we featured Nicole's book, What If It's Wonderful, so we have a feeling you are going to love this conversation!

  • Your Value is Not in Your Work
    Jun 3 2024

It's easier to say than actually believe, right?

But it's true. No matter how talented you are, how many hours you work, or how many people show up to your small group, your value isn't found in anything you do. And the sooner you start focusing on Christ's work in you, the sooner you can stop striving to perform and start enjoying the calling God has given you.

If you know someone who could benefit from this conversation, would you send it to them? Let's constantly be reminding one another where our value comes from.

The simple, accurate answer is the Great Commission! But in today's episode, we dig a little deeper to why and how we equip students to live on mission. You're going to love our guest, Kenni Cavalier, and hearing her story! She is on staff at Long Hollow Church, serving the Family Ministry as the Missions Coordinator for kids, students, and parents.

  • When It's Not All Fun & Games
    May 20 2024

When you obey God's calling and sign on as a ministry leader, it's easy to be naive about the hard stuff that comes with the position. Because while things like camp, dodgeball tournaments, paint wars, and more can be so much fun, the reality of ministry often looks like sacrifice.

So what do we do when our jobs aren't all fun and games? What do we do when we start questioning our calling or just begin growing weary? How do we hold fast to God's Word and His presence? Let's talk about it together in this episode.
