    Episode 12 Summer 2024 E Glazypeau Road is a beautiful drive that connects Hot Springs Village to Arkansas Highway 7 giving Villagers who live nearby a faster route to Wal-Mart. Ride along while we exit Hot Springs Village via the Glazypeau gate and head toward Highway 7. Six gates provide access to Hot Springs Village. The oldest gate location is the West gate at Hwy 7 and DeSoto Boulevard, which is manned 24/7. The East gate, located at Hwy 5 and Desoto, is also manned and is open from early morning until late evening. Four of the remaining five gates (Balboa, Cortez, Danville, and Glazy Peau) are accessible 24/7 via magnetic gate cards (membership or service provider ID cards issued by the HSV POA). The Cedar Creek Trail is a beautiful wooded trail encompassing three loops on level terrain, except for a slight incline on the Mourning Dove Path. This 3.1-mile trail (one way) is a favorite among residents for wildlife viewing, birdwatching, and being deep into nature. The trail features a seasonal view of Cedar Creek. The three loops within the trail include Blue Bird Path, a 0.7-mile loop; Kingfisher Path, a 0.6-mile loop; and Cardinal Path, a 0.6-mile loop. Parking Lot A is located at 200 Minorca Road. Parking is also available on Lot B at the north end of the trail at Minorca Road and Coronado Drive across from the Coronado Baptist Church.     Episode 8 Summer 2024 Lake Cortez is a 245 acre lake in Hot Springs Village, making it the 3rd largest lake inside the Village. Only Lake Coronado at 380 acres and Lake Balboa at 944 acres are larger. There are 11 lakes inside the Village. Four of the 11 lakes at Hot Springs Village are perfect for all types of water recreation, allowing for fishing, swimming, and water sports. Lakes Balboa, Coronado, Cortez and DeSoto all have a boat ramp, picnic tables and grills. - ExploreTheVillage.com The Pavilion is located off Carmona Road just off DeSoto Blvd. It features covered picnic tables, fireplace, grills, and restrooms. Fishing, swimming and water sports are permitted on the lake with a speed limit of 30 mph. The trail runs from the fitness center parking lot to the RV Park, ending at Lake Coronado and offers beautiful views of the Lake Pineda spillway creek and Lake Coronado.
