  • HTP #219 - John Vorhaus Talks Seriously About Comedy!
    Mar 1 2026
John Vorhaus (previously on episodes 92 , 120, and 168) is about to drop a bombshell: he's written a follow-up to his classic book, The Comic Toolbox. With his new book, The Comedy Writer's Companion, John reviews his earlier advice with the benefit of another 30 years of experience-- both professional experience as well as life experience. In this episode, John and I talk about how the two books relate to each other, how sitcoms and comedy writing is an essential skill, and how the most essential skill of all is to be true to who you are. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig

  • HTP #218 - Braxton Cosby Returns!
    Feb 15 2026
We last saw Braxton not too long ago in Episode 207, but today he's ready to talk about a project that's a grand achievement even for him-- a two-part series based on the life of Yasuke, the historical 16th-century African Samurai. After becoming fascinated with the concept of the character, Braxton did the real-life research into who he was and found the basis for a historical fiction novel, which he then paired with a fantasy-laden comic book extension. This was the PERFECT concept for a Hungry Trilobyte chat, in which the two of us ponder how much creative freedom one can have with known real-world people, and how much available facts shape that. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig

  • HTP #217 - Bat H. Boughner III Returns
    Feb 1 2026
The last time we spoke with Bat (Episode 192) he told some great stories about his grandfather, Golden Age comic artist Howard Boughner. This time around, we have more contemporary matters to discuss: the potential sale of Warner Bros. Studios to Netflix… or potentially Paramount, or someone else. While Bat and I share the concerns of many people as to how Netflix would treat the WB library, we have more pressing concerns about the general trend of comic book movies and the weight genre movies have put on the film industry as a whole. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig

  • HTP #214 - Gregg Berger
    Oct 9 2025
Gregg Berger is a voice actor who cares deeply about the fact that he's voiced some timeless characters in long-running franchises, such as Grimlock from Transformers and Odie from Garfield. Gregg has also voiced a few more esoteric roles such as Cornfed Pig on Duckman. In this episode of Hungry Trilobyte, I get to ask Gregg about what it's like to be on the ground floor of such massive franchises, as well as what it's like to collaborate with other voice talent when you can't even be in the same room. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
