Two doctors - Dre and Quinn, Medicine Woman - lead us into the back half of I Love 1993, but Annie and Courtney are a little more equipped to discuss the impact of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. This episode also dips into Dazed and Confused, Crystal Pepsi, Quantum Leap, Aerosmith, and one of THE defining shows of the decade: The X-Files.

The first half of I Love 1993 sends Annie down some rabbit holes of notable true crime cases surrounding the Bobbitts and the Davidians, while Courtney mostly struggles to defend the opinion that "Informer" by Snow isn't really that bad. But between Jurassic Park, Where's Waldo?, and Martin, the major theme here is a sense of timelessness in entertainment, and it's a joy to see VH1's gallery of commentators revel in it!

The year continues with forays into the violence of Tarantino, Mortal Kombat, and playground hipster versions of Barney's infamous "I Love You" song. But after shrugging through discussions of a disastrous Olympic ad campaign and a rivalry between a fictional character and the then-current US Veep, we finally get to fawn over the greatest movie soundtrack of all time. We're rollerblading our way through the backend of I Love 1991! But Annie makes up for it when she notes just how many major cultural artifacts the show itself skipped over. As for Courtney? You guessed it -- more moronic rants about events for which she was hardly present!

Between the meteoric rise of grunge music and the teen angst of Beverly Hills, 90210, 1991 was the year the '90s truly became the greatest decade of all time! We've sadly lost some legends since then, but even more sad is that a certain political figure has retained his position ever since. But on the bright side, this episode introduced us to some great movies and helped us contextualize the pop culture we already loved growing up!
