Imperial Many Minds #6: How flexible working can work for women

  • Resumen

  • The pandemic forced millions of workers to work from home but that transition did not go as smoothly for women as it did for men. The pandemic didn’t only send home employees, but their children as well. The division of household chores has affected women’s ability to advance in their careers and, therefore, women’s equality in the workplace. However, in order to achieve an egalitarian workplace, we must also focus on egalitarian households.

In this final episode, Professor Celia Moore and alumnus Avni Vij share their experiences in transitioning to more flexible working and the challenges gender expectations still present. They also discuss the way they are reframing their personal lives and relationships to ensure young girls around them don’t internalise traditional gender roles.
