  • (Originally aired on February 29, 2019)  In this podcast, Professor Burlingame invites listeners to learn how culture affects disease, medicine and healing in human cultures using medical anthropology information from Bali — the site of the yearly Anthropology Retreat.  The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted how differences in culture, history and geographical location can greatly affect how each and every one of us experiences infectious disease.  Learning more about the cultural factors involved in disease, medicine and healing provides each listener with an opportunity to take a leadership role in partnership with medical professionals in their own health and wellbeing.
