  • As the debate and research continue side by side over 100s years later, there is still no quick fixes or magical pill to abruptly arrest, address, treat or eliminate an addiction or addictive behaviours once an individual has started the process that often ends in or leads to a loss of one's ability for self-regulation regarding the behaviour or behaviours in question. Does this mean then that an addiction is a lifelong illness and a disease or a learned behavioural disorder? This episode of the recovery show explores this question with a three criterion definition that looks at a wider cross section of addictive behaviours and presentation other than that of substance use, abuse or misuse.
