  • GREASE, GRIT, AND GOOD TIMES: TRIPLE JAMESONS WITH GAGE AND THE GREASE MONKEYS.
    Sep 8 2025

Fresh off their rowdy set at The Destination in Midland, Texas, Gage and the Grease Monkeys join Moose and Selso for a post-show hang that’s equal parts interview and barstool confessional. With a few drinks in and the amps still buzzing, the band opens up about their musical roots, chaotic tour moments, and the emotional fuel behind their latest tracks. Expect laughter, unexpected tangents, and a whole lot of heart as the jam room turns into a late-night storytelling session. It’s raw, real, and just greasy enough to leave a mark.

  • STURGIS TOASTIES!!!
    Sep 1 2025

Selso, Art, and Rooster weren’t your average motorcycle enthusiasts. Sure, they had bikes. Sure, they had leather jackets. But what truly set them apart was their unwavering devotion to breakfast-themed branding and questionable road trip decisions.

It all started when Selso, mid-podcast recording, declared: “Guys, what if we ride to Sturgis… dressed as toast?” Art, sipping cold brew from a mason jar, nodded solemnly. “Only if mine has jam flames.” Rooster, who had just returned from a week-long silent retreat in a Waffle House parking lot, whispered, “I’m buttered and ready.”

    So they hit the road.

Art rode a white cruiser with a sidecar full of stickers and band merch. Rooster had a maroon beast with handlebars shaped like forks. Selso’s bike? A vintage chopper with a toaster strapped to the back, ejecting slices every 20 miles like breadcrumbs for lost breakfast souls.

They made it halfway through Oklahoma before a biker gang called “The Grits” challenged them to a slow-motion race. Selso won by narrating the entire event in podcast form while riding. Art got distracted trying to sketch a cartoon mascot mid-turn. Rooster stopped to butter a passing tumbleweed.

When they finally rolled into Sturgis, toast suits flapping in the wind, they were greeted with awe, confusion, and one guy who yelled, “I KNEW CARBS WOULD RETURN!”

They didn’t win any official awards. But they did get a lifetime supply of syrup from a pancake vendor named Sheila, who claimed Rooster’s mustache reminded her of her third husband.

And that night, under the neon glow of a dive bar called “The Crusty Crankshaft,” the trio raised their mugs of dark beer and declared: “To breakfast. To bikes. To being absolutely ridiculous.”

Realize You Have a Flat Your car starts wobbling like it’s auditioning for Dancing with the Stars. Pull over before it wins a trophy.

Find the Spare Tire It’s in the trunk, under that mysterious carpet flap you’ve never lifted. Bonus points if it’s not shaped like a pancake.

Grab the Jack and Lug Wrench These tools look like medieval torture devices. That’s normal.

Loosen the Lug Nuts Turn them counterclockwise. If they don’t budge, whisper sweet nothings or threaten them with a Yelp review.

Jack Up the Car Place the jack under the car’s designated metal spot—not under the plastic trim unless you enjoy expensive crunching sounds.

Remove the Flat Tire Pull it off like you’re removing a stubborn boot. Try not to throw it in frustration—it’s still technically yours.

Put on the Spare Line up the holes, slide it on, and pretend you’re a NASCAR pit crew.

Tighten the Lug Nuts Crisscross pattern, like you’re drawing an angry tic-tac-toe board.

Lower the Car Gently bring it down. Don’t drop it like it’s hot.

Drive Away Heroically You did it! You’re now 12% more qualified to survive the apocalypse.

  • ON THE SCENE AT SOUND DEEP SUMMERFEST 2025
    Aug 4 2025

Selso and Moose take the podcast “in the field” for an evening of live conversations with Midland’s rising talent. First, they sit down with Chris Brown, lead singer of Day After Dead, to explore how today’s youth will shape the next great music wave—despite a minor technical hiccup.

Next, Aaron Chaney of Bees at Breakfast joins the show. Aaron not only discusses the band’s Midwest emo sound but also opens with a performance from his solo project, Dreamscene. Together, Moose and Aaron encourage Selso to pursue more original songwriting.

The episode wraps up with the hosts reflecting on the night’s highlights and brainstorming ideas for future installments.

Big shout out to Sound Deep Magazine and Cotton Flat Records for hosting this event, and for letting us post up and record this episode.

  • BLEACH BY HURTWAVE AKA CRYING IN SYNTH
    Jul 28 2025

After nearly two months of radio silence—and a string of mysterious postcards from far-flung places—Selso sat alone in the studio, sipping lukewarm coffee and eyeing the dusty co-host mic. Then, right as the intro music for the next episode faded out… the door creaked open.

    In walked Moose.

With a sun-weathered bucket hat, a vintage windbreaker, and a grin only slightly wider than his accent, Moose declared: "Alright partner. I’ve seen the world, I’ve heard the stories, and I’ve fixed a payphone with a paperclip and three words of Swahili. Let’s hit record."

Turns out Moose had been in Uganda—not for the gram, not for the drama—but on a noble quest to restore the last functioning pay telephone in the country. The village of Nakibanga had held onto the phone since the 1980s, and when it croaked out its last dial tone, they called the only man who’d once fixed a soundboard with chewing gum during SXSW: Moose.

He rewired circuits, bartered with tech-savvy goats (allegedly), and even trained a local bird to mimic the ringtone as backup. And when the handset finally buzzed to life, the entire town lined up to make calls to relatives they hadn’t spoken to in years.

Now back in Texas, Moose wasn’t just bringing tales—he brought that rare energy only found in people who’ve lived a few extra stories. As he leaned toward the mic, his voice was deeper, wiser, still unmistakably Moose.

"Selso, this podcast is more than interviews and hot takes. It’s where the echoes of stories find a new home. Let's get to it."

  • PRETTY GIRL (THE WAY)- SELSO FLYS SOLO......
    Jul 14 2025

🐴 Selso and Moose: Rodeo Rookies 🐮

It was a scorchin’ Saturday in Midland, and Selso had one goal: become a rodeo legend. Not the usual lasso-swingin’, boot-stompin’ type—but the kind that enters on a unicycle juggling toast. His trusty sidekick Moose (not a moose, just a very large, mildly confused dog who answers to "Buddy Cowboy") was equally determined, mostly because he thought “rodeo” meant “all-you-can-eat chili.”

They showed up late to the tryouts, Selso wearing a glittery cape, Moose wearing half a saddle and a cowboy hat that looked like it had survived a tornado and a toddler. The announcer squinted at them and said, “Uh...what event are y’all here for?”

    Selso winked. “Surprise category.”

Their first challenge: the mechanical bull. Selso climbed on like a knight mounting a dragon. Moose sat beside the control panel and—trying to be helpful—accidentally pressed TURBO. The bull spun so fast Selso achieved temporary orbit. When he landed, he struck a heroic pose. “Did I win?”

Next up, the lasso challenge. Selso tried to rope a plastic steer while Moose chased it thinking it was a chew toy. Selso roped Moose by accident. Moose didn’t mind. He was just happy to be involved.

Finally, the freestyle performance. Selso and Moose burst onto the dirt arena with boom box blaring. Selso breakdanced while juggling toast, Moose did interpretive barking. The crowd went silent, confused, then slowly erupted into laughter and applause.

They didn’t win any rodeo trophies. But they did win something better: a golden spatula labeled “Most Creative Misinterpretation of a Rodeo”. Selso held it high. “This is for everyone who ever dreamed of dancing in dirt!”

Moose howled in agreement, his cowboy hat falling off dramatically.

  • MOVIE TOASTIES!!!
    Jul 7 2025

    Hey.....were back.........again.

So with both of our lives just being so hectic lately we decided to do an episode idea that we; had for a while. in hindsight its probably a horrible idea. But for the sake of getting an episode out we grabbed some snacks, got comfy and put on one of Selsos favorite movies. The 2003 skater film "GRIND". We had fun watching this movie and making some commentary on it. Let us know if you would like this idea or if we should scrap any future episodes with this idea.

SO if you're super bored and want to watch along with this episode , grab you some popcorn and twizzlers and lets do this.
