  • Don't Give Up On Your Dreams On Christmas
    Dec 25 2024

The first time I ever worked on Christmas day was around 25 years ago when I was 20 or 21...
I was a waiter on the breakfast and lunch shifts at the Hilton...

Getting up early wasn't fun, but it was pretty decent money for someone my age and with no responsibility, so it made it worth it.
When Christmas rolled around, it was announced that they'd be having a special brunch and dinner buffet and they requested extra help...
At first, I thought about how weird it was to go out to eat on Christmas, as I didn't know anybody who did that, but since I don't really like my family (lol) and I wanted a good excuse to not spend time with them, I volunteered...
    We were so busy.

I remember working and hustling harder than I'd ever worked in my life at that time...
But after almost 8 hours, I had made more money than I had ever made in my life up to that point...
After tipping out my busser, food runners, and bartenders, I think I walked with nearly $600!
Remember, this is over 20 years ago, and in Tucson, AZ. Not Las Vegas where I am now.
Needless to say, I was hooked.
I have tried to pick up bartending or serving shifts on every major holiday since. Why not have a good excuse to not spend "quality" time with those that get on your nerves the most lol
In home business, it's no different... People are looking for something to do... The internet is VERY busy today...
Make sure you provide them with something to occupy their attention.
Position yourself as the one they should follow to help them escape the hell of going back to a job they can't stand.
Show up when no one else does.
This doesn't mean that you have to slave away on your computer while your loved ones enjoy Christmas Dinner without you...
This just means that you shouldn't forget about your goals, on any day.
And if you have spent the last year building the proper habits for success, this should be just like any other day.
So get some content up. Attract some attention.
Give weary travel goers something to look at and think about while they're trying to escape.
Help them escape, so you can escape...
Merry Christmas and get to work.
    Talk soon,
    Jason Alan
