  • #1 Interview with Confidence
    Jun 4 2023

In this episode, I talk about strategies to boost your confidence for interviews:

    1. Prepare Thoroughly: The more you know about the company and the job, the better equipped you will be to answer questions intelligently and confidently. Ensure you understand the job description, research the company and its culture, and consider the ways your skills and experience align with the company's needs.
    2. Practice: Conduct mock interviews with a friend or use an online tool. Practice answering common interview questions and think of questions you can ask the interviewer. The more familiar you are with interview dynamics, the more confident you will be.
    3. Focus on Your Strengths: Consider what you bring and why you fit the role well. Focusing on your achievements and strengths can help boost your confidence.
    4. Mind Your Body Language: Stand and sit up straight, make eye contact, and remember to smile. These actions can make you appear and feel more confident.
    5. Relaxation Techniques: If you're feeling particularly anxious, consider relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation. These can help calm your nerves and clear your mind before the interview.
    6. Manage Expectations: Remember that an interview is not only for the company to see if you are a good fit for them but also for you to see if the company is a good fit for you. This mindset can help reduce the pressure and increase your confidence.
    7. Take Your Time: During the interview, take your time to answer. Take a moment to think about what you want to say. It’s better to gather your thoughts than stumble over your words for a few seconds.
    8. Learn from Each Interview: Treat each interview as a learning experience. If you don't get the job, don't take it as a personal failure. Instead, ask for feedback and use it to improve for your next interview.

I also mention the free Common Interview Questions document that you can download.
