3. Family Ornaments

It's all unraveling and we're only three episodes in to The 25 Days of Joemas! Today's movie was one Joe really, really did not like. It's the family-friendly, childhood trauma-focused, be-careful-what-you-wish-for holiday adventure, "Family Ornaments" (2023)!

Meet Meredith! She's one of the most unlikeable protagonists we've met yet! She's an awful sister, mean wife, invasive mom, and all-around self-serving person! She at least seemed to be an okay daughter. Good for her dead mom, I guess. Oh yeah, her mom just died. Meredith buys a mystery ornament from a mystery German and accidentally kills her whole family because they won't follow her rules. That's the gist of the movie and I'm not kidding. Merry Christmas!

2. Mistletoe Time Machine

Welcome to the second episode of The 25 Days of Joemas! Today's celebration of Joemas centers on the high school time travel good time (don't focus too much on the trauma), "Mistletoe Time Machine" (2022)!

Ishani, Mei-Ling, and Taijah were high school best friends. They were also a part of the confusingly popular band, SQUAD 3D! That is, they were until the events of the Holiday Showdown! One passed out, one threw up, and one attacked a woman. They also stopped being friends. It was pretty crazy! Anyway, 14 years later none of them are happy and they're tricked by a creepy Santa to travel back in time and fix their problems.

Poor Jessica! All of her exes get married right after she breaks up with them. Is she cursed? Or is she a lucky charm for them? Maybe both! Actually, it's neither! It's neither!

Joe watches the dog movie that's not as much about a dog as the title implies, "A Very Corgi Christmas" (2019)!

I'm thinking about this now, for the first time, but this movie is never really about a dog. Yes, there is a dog in it, but it's not what the movie is about at all. It's about a woman who works too much learning to appreciate her family and Christmas. The dog is just incidental! What a scam!

When Big City Maddie finds herself in Small Town Christmas Valley, what in the heck is going to happen? If you guessed change the lives almost everyone in that town while also falling in love with a Christmas tree farmer and his daughter, you'd be right! But you have earned no prize!

Mike is a good guy, but he has a friend who is just the worst. This movie does not focus nearly enough on just how gross his friend is. Instead, we're supposed to focus on nice Holly who wins the lottery, but then has her car stolen. Fine, if you insist!
