  • Kirsten planned homebirths for all three of her daughters. Her first birth ended up transferring to a hospital immediately postpartum due to breathing complications with her brand new daughter. Her second birth also resulted in a hospital transfer due to baby's heartrate falling during the pushing stage. Upset and hurt by her two birth outcomes, Kirsten and her husband waited to get pregnant again for a while. Upon getting pregnant, they sadly miscarried at 12 weeks. Taking all of this with her, Kirsten found out she was pregnant again and was determined to have the homebirth of her dreams. Kirsten talks about how she prepared mentally and emotionally for this birth and how empowered she felt afterwards.
