    Description: Once again following last week's dedication to the late Freda Banky, George's wife, tonight's L'Chaim -To Life is not a regular program with guests as it very much saddened me to have to inform our listeners that our much loved L'Chaim team member, Jeff Degen (BIG Z- Zaida, to his grandchildren) passed last Sunday, just shy of his 80th birthday. I first met Jeff when I was presenting the Shabbat Shalom program at J-AIR, then joining the board of management where Jeff was the most dedicated and talented treasurer, and George was the station President. The Jeff Degen who I was blessed to get to know the last 7-8 years was mensch, who always put others before himself, volunteering with many organisations, which was most deservedly acknowledged last year, with him being presented the B'Nai Brith Menorah award for service to the community of volunteers who have given of themselves for long periods of time. No question that was Jeff, a true testament of the mensch who was devoted to his family, his pride and joy. Jeff had a committed love for the Jewish community and Israel. As with Freda last week, there was a large attendance at the funeral and minyan, again reflecting the love and respect the community had for Jeff. Our hearts are with Jeff's family his wife Anne, sons David and Danny and their families. Tonight's L'Chaim -To Life is dedicated to our L'Chaim team member and dear mate Jeff Degen, 79. A MENSCH. Baruch Dayan HaEmet.
