Live Mindfully with Lori Moore

De: Lori Moore
  • Resumen

  • Hi, I'm Lori the host of the podcast that invites us all to slow down, take a deep breath and start to view the world through a brand new lens. In each episode I share my unique take on living mindfully in a modern world. We talk about a range of topics and more empowered ways of handling life’s ups and downs. I believe that when we limit distractions, take time for daily reflection, set realistic expectations and organise our own lives in a holistic way, we gift ourselves the space to show up as our most mindful, most wholehearted version every day.

In today’s episode we look at how to manage toxic people and situations through a mindful lens. We also look more deeply at situations that you might not recognise as toxic or harmful to our wellbeing and what to do.

I am taking a short break from the Live Mindfully Podcast. The content will continue to be available and I will be back in the future with special topics, guest speakers and to record a Mindful Minute.

  • A Simple Way to Set Difficult Boundaries
    Mar 12 2024

Brene Brown, renowned Shame Researcher, has a wonderful boundary mantra: "say yes to discomfort and no to resentment".

In today's episode I am sharing my experience with the silent boundary method. This method was something I started about 5 years ago and it has worked miracles in my relationships, especially the one I have with myself.

To achieve the Silent Boundary Method, we need to normalise three things:
    1) Saying no without justification and extra details
    2) Creating space before giving an answer IE "I'll need to check some things and if it's a yes, I'll come back to you"
    3) Letting the other person have their response - disappointment, anger, upset; without taking it on board ~ this is by far the hardest, but if we learn to accept and expect this, we won't see other people's response as proof that we can't set boundaries.

  • Is the Road to Happiness, Accepting that you Aren't?
    Mar 5 2024

I've given up trying to cure my mental illness and it's done wonders for my well-being - this was the headline from a recent article I read on MSN and in today’s episode I explore if the road to better mental health and to happiness is accepting that the opposite is true.

    Let’s get started.
