    Cal, Katie, Dave and Sean speak with a local legend! Tony Hillier is a Stockport Harrier, and a man who has been running and coaching for many years. With PBs 18:34 5k, 37:16 10k, 1:18:50 half, and 2:52:46 for the marathon. If there is a local race, he is there! Tony talks about how he started running, then tackling marathons. He reminises about the "old" days were its was no gps, chip timing, and you just had to accept the time given. Tony talks about coaching and starting HRC which has seem some great runner emerge from the community. He discusses age categories for men and women as well as how long he thinks he can keep running for.

    The team talk about local races and there have been a few. Some BIG news coming in this episode too with a local race on the calendar. Sean has a bigger smile on his face with Berlin Marathon training in full swing, Dave races 3 times in a short period, Cal is doing more strength work and getting ready for holiday, and Katie isnt ready for a road race but is ready for 3 races in 5 days.

    Sean, Cal, Katie and Dave speak with a Hyde Village Strider. Rachael Horrocks has PBs of 26:18 for 5k, 56:09 for 10k, 2:04:56 for half and 4:45:17 for the marathon. She is a runner who always smiling, and a winner of our special recognition award at The Tour this year. Rachael talks about how she started running and her inspiration to keep going. Also, she speaks about how Hyde Village Striders have helped (bullied) her into racing cross country and other great races and experiences. Rachael talks about when she won the special recognition award at the Tour and what she does outside of running. Rachael talks about Reuben's Retreat which is a charity close to her heart. The team talk about getting booked on the Black Knight Charge, ordering kit, and a review of Caffeine Bullet. Dave gives a full rundown of his training in a week, Katie talks about getting booed at a race, Cal doesnt know what to train for and Sean is in his happy place, a marathon training block.

    Sean, Gav, Cal and Dave speak with Hayley Simpson and Mark Bousie for a review of The Tour 2024 and how it went for them. Along with the chat, the Katie and Emma spoke with runners over the 4 days bringing the interviews back for 2024.

    The team talk about their training in the last few weeks. Cal talks of Podiums eye balls out, Dave had a good run out at Hyde 7 and Sean ate his body weight in fish, chips and burgers on holiday in the lakes.

  • Episode 82 - Tom Charles & Nick Barry

    Cal, Sean, Dave and Katie talk to a Chorlton Runner and a Sale Harrier. Tom Charles has PB’s of 14:44 5k, 30:26 10k, 66:49 HM and 2:21:59 M, as well some big wins including Yorkshire Marathon 2021! Nick Barry has PB’s of 14:50 5k 30:13 10k 66:37 HM and 2:22:55 M. Tom talks about how much of a sweet tooth he has, and explains why he races so much, whether its Parkrun or a local race. Tom also talks about his training and how it works for him showing that something that might not look right for some people, can work for others. Nick (apart from complimenting Tom through gritted teeth) talks about how he started running and how close he was to giving up the sport. Nick also talks about how he stays injury free. Both Tom and Nick talk about Welsh Castles which Sean and Dave took part in last weekend. With a small change, we asked for Tom and Nick to ask each other three questions each.

    Dave, Katie, Cal, Gav and Sean speak with Tour of Tameside winners from 2023. Helen Ansell is a Stadium Runner and Matt Cooper is a Salford Harrier. Both talk about how they trained for the Tour, what their favourite and least favourite stage is, what they would do differently and if they are running this year. Helen talks about her running marathons, being coached by previous winner Joe Baker and will she join Glossopdale Harriers? Matt talks about why he moved to Salford, why he did back to back marathons as well did he go into the tour going for the win. The team talk about whats been happening in the last few weeks. Katie is getting over her illness, Sean has a small ankle injury, Gav is getting right back at it, Cal is getting back into more races and Dave is back to winning races.   • Episode 80 - Mike and Helen Harrington

    Dave, Cal, Sean and Gav talk to two Cheshire Dragons. The race director for Run Cheshire who has PBs of 5k - 16:53 10k - 35:33 half - 77:47 Mar - 2:53:51. And The Co-founder of Cheshire Dragons, who is a UKA Licensed endurance coach with PBs of 5k - 18:41 10k - 39:10 half - 1:26:29 Mar 3:18:23 along with some ultras. Mike and Helen Harrington talk about how it Cheshire Dragons came about along with how their running journey started. Mike talks about his events company Run Cheshire and how some of his races have caught the headlines year in year out (for good reasons). Helen talks about getting her runs in when she works on US time as well as her drive for ultras. They both explain about how they manage their running with 3 daughters busy schedules and how they prepare to race, but do they always actually race after their warm up.


    The team give an update on training after marathons and 3 year breaks. Dave talks about his mass of races in the last few weeks, Sean says about his ankle giving his some jip, Cal is back in training with some goal races and Gav IS BACK with a big race booked, but what race?

  • Episode 79 - Michael Holness

    Sean, Cal and Katie speak with an East Cheshire Harriers who won South East Lancs League overall, won 1st vet in Manchester League XC twice and finished joint top v40 with Dave Norman, 1st vet at Salford 10k. Michael talks about running as a junior and what skills he learned that help him today. As well as how he got back into running after he recognised that he needed a change in lifestyle. Michael talks about how coaching brings rewards and where he has gathered the information to help him be a coach. Also, he talks about who inspires him and how confidence is key.

    The team are back from the big smoke with medals and new T-Shirts along with a hangover that lasted a little longer than expected. Sean talks us through his PB and breaking that 2:39 barrier, Katie tells us about finally running up the mall without cramp, and Cal tells us how to celebrate after a marathon PB!
