  • On February 25th, 2023, the lives of Jessica Mitchell and her family were forever changed. Jessica's husband, son and daughter were involved in a crash in Kerwood. Their SUV collided with a pick-up truck. Jessica's husband Jason was killed while her daughter Layla and son Oliver were injured. Seatbelts saved their lives and they're speaking out on the importance of wearing them. The LHSC did a poll this year and found between January and June, 90% of students between grade 9 and 12 reported being in a car with someone who wasn't wearing a seatbelt. 75% said they don't wear one themselves. Motor vehicle collisions are the number one cause of injury for adults and kids at the LHSC.
