The Chargers are not satisfied with the roster after cutdown day and Joe Hortiz made a huge move to upgrade at backup QB trading for Taylor Heinicke. The former Falcon brings valuable starting experience and has won games and fills a major roster question mark after Easton Stick's poor offseason. Dan and David recap a wild day that also included the Chargers trading for Titan's DB Elijah Molden to boost the secondary. Molden brings some versatility and experience and almost comes with no risk after only trading a 2026 7th round pick. Los Angeles also were awarded a new running back with former Michigan running back and special teams Hassan Haskins was claimed on waivers. The roster is set and the Chargers did some roster gymnastics to help them keep some players who deserved a spot like Tony Jefferson. Both JT Woods and Jefferson made the team giving them a playmaker with experience at safety while giving a young player a chance at a new spot. Dan and David react to the Charger initial 53-man roster including the team doing what they hoped; keep Simi Fehoko and Brenden Rice. Not many had Los Angeles keeping 7 receivers but both were important to keep around for for different reasons. One of the biggest surprises was Donald Parham Jr. missing the cut after being TE2 last year, leading to some questions about red zone weapons. The Chargers will now hit up the waiver wire and continue to try to improve the team and the priority should be finding Justin Herbert a new quarterback.
