The New York Jets took a shot on Tarik Cohen this offseason in part because of a rule change potentially increasing the role of kickoff returns in the league in 2024. Cohen had a history of success as a returner. That, however, was many years and many injuries ago. Cohen's longshot comeback ended officially on Thursday with his retirement. Meanwhile CJ Mosley is seeing his role expand on defense as the coaching staff is more willing to defer to him than in the past.

The Jets landed a star pass rusher this offseason in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles when they acquired Haason Reddick. However, Reddick is unhappy with his contract. How unhappy? He is sitting out training camp. This news should bring many emotions for Jets fans. One of them is not panic, however. There is still a lot to suggest Reddick will play and play well. If he doesn't the defense is still primed to be very good.
