In this pair of chapters Ruadan and Bren go out into the wild to gain some experience. Ruadan takes Bren to the lair of Caoránach the Oilliphéist on Lough Dearg. Bren gets to fight what he calls a "Prehistoric Turd."

We start with a bar fight in this one, have a reunion with Fern, and get some marching orders from Brigid. And as Ruadan says at the end of the chapter, "Come on, Runt,” he said with his usual sly smile. “It’s time for a training montage.”
