  • How Can We Heal From Childhood Trauma as an Adult
    Feb 5 2022

Studies have shown that the experiences we have as a child create a big impact on us during adulthood. Good and positive experiences developed trust, greater level of happiness and self esteem. On the other hand childhood trauma also has an impact on us during adulthood. It can impact future relationships and lead to other issues like depression and low self esteem. Experiencing trauma in childhood can impact the way that we form attachments in romantic relationships. A survey suggest that the students who experienced physical, emotional, or sexual abuse were more likely to exhibit attachment styles that were fearful, preoccupied, and dismissive. It also found that students that did not experience childhood trauma were much more likely to have secure attachment styles into adulthood. Exposure to traumatic events can also cause self-destructive behavior, and even difficulty trusting others

  • Cynicism, Why is it Bad for Us?
    Jan 30 2022

Are you the type of person who believes that people are motivated purely by self-interest? Do you have the attitude to distrust others’ motives? Then, you must be cynical; you have a general lack of faith or hope in people motivated by ambition, desire, greed, gratification, materialism and goals. For this week’s episode we will talk about cynicism, why is it bad for us and what can we do to stop being cynical.

Cynics certainly work hard to avoid harm. But unfortunately, they can end up harming themselves. In their effort to avoid getting burned they mistrust even those who want to be friendly and supportive toward them, they exhaust themselves by constantly trying to stay on guard. They pass on valuable opportunities for cooperation because they seem too risky. At the same time, they can spend too much time and money trying to protect themselves by monitoring and controlling other people.

A cynical attitude hurts you in ways you’d probably never expect. On the whole, it affects your health, career, earnings, and relationships. Here are some of the ways that being cynical can be detrimental to your well-being.

  • Why We Should Forgive
    Jan 23 2022

To err is human, to forgive divine by Alexander Pope. This is one of the most common quote that we hear about forgiveness. And today we will talk about forgiveness, the reasons, the benefits, and how can we become a more forgiving person?

Forgiveness is a choice one makes over and over again. It can be a fresh perspective or a healthy distance; like a quiet room with a view onto the world of complexity and conflict.

Forgiveness can be a gift to yourself or to others, it may be something you receive, but it can also be a quality that describes a relationship where one must be capable of self-forgiveness in order to forgive others.
