  • This week we start out with a battle in Florida in one of the last cities held by the Confederates. On September 27th, 1864, Union Cavalry attacked Marianna, FL which resulted in the battle of Marianna.
    Next up, Grant sets up a dual assault on the rebels on both of Robert E. Lee's flanks. The first and eastern assault was the battle of Chaffin's Farm on September 29th-30th.

    The western portion was the battle of Peebles' Farm on September 30th-October 2nd.

    Our last battle was in Saltville, VA where the Union attempted to take the town and stop the Confederate supply of salt. However, after the Union retreated, the wounded men left on the battlefield were massacred by the Confederates with estimates of around 50 soldiers killed, mostly from the black regiments.
