This week, we head to Matthew 5:14-16 in the Bible. Matthew records the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus taught His followers what it looks like to live as part of God's Kingdom. Jesus says we are like light in the darkness and salt to flavor food. We're a city on a hill that points others to God. God gave us so much through Jesus. We can show others what God is like with how we act.

Here are 4 simple ways that you can apply this lesson to your family's daily routine throughout the week. In the morning as your kid starts their day, send them off with some encouraging words like: “I really admire how you (blank).”. When you are eating a meal with your family this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “What is one way that you or someone you know has followed Jesus' example?”. In the car, ask your kid: “Would you rather go to a water park or an amusement park?”. Before your child goes to sleep, pray for each other: “Jesus, thank you for leading us, loving us & helping us in life.”
