  • Hi! I'm Justin Ogburn, a REALTOR® and property manager at Headley Realty, P.C. here in Bellevue, Nebraska. In this self-interview you can take a few minutes to learn about who I am as a person, a husband, a father, a retired Navy veteran, and your go-to real estate agent proudly serving all of Omaha with top-notch customer service. I was born and raised in North Carolina. Two weeks after my high school graduation, I began traveling the world in the Navy. I ended up being stationed here at Offutt Air Force Base along the way and met my beautiful wife, Callie. She is a Lincoln native and now we call Papillion home. Why did you become a real estate professional? I initially became interested in real estate while I was in college. I purchased my first investment property at the age of 21 and have continued to purchase rentals at different duty locations. As I retired from the Navy, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in property management. Then I realized how much I also enjoyed helping clients reach their real estate goals when buying and selling homes. How did you get started? I completed all the required real estate courses in my free time after work at my last Navy duty station. I immediately took my real estate licensing exam after moving back to Nebraska following my military retirement and passed the first time. I interviewed with Headley Realty and the boutique real estate office was a perfect match. I began serving greater Omaha in September 2022. What's the most memorable experience you've had with a client? I helped a military family moving from out of state. They visited over a weekend to view houses. We looked at over ten houses and then a new house was listed just one block from where I live. They immediately fell in love. In the end, we found them a home that met all their needs, and I acquired some new friends and neighbors in the process. They were ecstatic that I was able to get the job done for them so quickly and help coordinate some upkeep prior to their move, and I was delighted that I was able to help them accomplish their goals. What makes you stand out from other real estate professionals? A United States Navy career spanning over 21 years in positions of increasing responsibility within the elite submarine community turned me into a seasoned, results-producing management professional with experience steering and directing all aspects of operations, budget, and administration. I establish, build, and maintain winning relationships to effectively collaborate and achieve diverse objectives. I excel at clear communication and simultaneously juggling multiple tasks with ease. What do you do for fun? I always enjoy spending time with my family. My wife and kids are my world! A few years ago my wife gave me the best Christmas present ever…a Traeger wood fired grill and smoker. I love experimenting with smoking different meats or even bacon wrapped oreos. I try to go to the gym for a little bit each day and love staying active, but sometimes the cold weather here in Nebraska makes that a little difficult. What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood? We love watching the fireworks at Werner Park from our backyard. When the weather is nice outside, a walk around Prairie Queen Lake is hard to beat. What are your favorite restaurants in the neighborhood? One place we found that we absolutely love is Ollie & Hobbs, which serves up delicious burgers and great specials. They also offer a fantastic happy hour menu. Yum!
