  • LOVE COMES IN MANY SIZES
    Apr 14 2026

When I found a tiny pebble on the carpet that probably came from the bottom of my shoe, I was reminded that love comes in many sizes. It was in the shape of a heart; I compared it to a large heart-shaped boulder. Love is something we experience in many different sizes and forms.

  • IT NEVER GETS OLD
    Apr 13 2026

We have been living here for over fifty years, and the view that brought us here in the first place never gets old. There is something always a little different about it, and for that I am very grateful. Having something that to be grateful for has encouraged me to find other things to be grateful for which in turn leads to acts of positivity.

  • ONLY A LITTLE REMAINING
    Apr 12 2026

The winter’s snow is almost gone. Only a little remains, most of it hiding in the shadows. We had setbacks, but spring is finally taking control. Sometimes it takes us the will to change an unwanted habit as we stay the course until the little remaining finally disappears permanently. Patience and purpose can be key to success.

  • A CROOK IN THE TREE
    Apr 11 2026

I am fascinated by the shapes of the trees in the woods. Some grow straight and tall while others have all types of bends and crooks. They are shaped by their environment. Together they make up the landscape of the forest. The landscape of life is also made up of people with different types of bodies. Some are straight and tall while others have physical limitations. All have gifts to share.

  • COLORING UP NICELY
    Apr 10 2026

The finches, both yellow and red, are halfway to their full colors for mating season. I love to see them flitting back and forth to the birdfeeders. People can be affected by the color of clothes they wear. In fact, when someone is caught in a negative mood, changing your clothes may help change your mood.

  • HERE WE GO AGAIN
    Apr 9 2026

If we had thought we had moved on to spring, Nature had other ideas and coated the landscape in white again. I am reminded of the phrases people use to address negative situations like “here we go again.” We can change situations that we perceive as negative by finding something that is positive, like the beauty of the snow!!!!!

  • WATCHING THE LILAC BUDS
    Apr 8 2026

The lilacs now have some tiny green buds on their branches, and I will be watching them closely until they bloom in about a month. As I do not reproduce their smell in my mind, I will spend some time with them when they open. It is good to have something positive to look forward to, knowing that each experience is different.

  • EXPECTATIONS
    Apr 7 2026

I almost always expect that April weather will have lots of twists and turns before it leaves. That is sure true this year, and those expecting a warm spring have been disappointed so far. My expectation in life is that, regardless of the weather, I can find something positive to be grateful for and share it with others.
