Now that we are halfway through January and daylight has reached 4:30 PM. I am realizing Ground Hog Day is less than three weeks away. It was the morning shadows I saw out the window that caused me to think about shadows and fear for what hides within them. Fortunately, morning shadows disappear, as do shadows in our hearts with our inner light.

I have been enjoying the last few days of a January thaw. I can even see where the snow has melted off a pile of rocks, something I will really focus on as spring nears. My goal each morning is to find something in the day to enjoy regardless of the weather. Then I remind myself how grateful I am to have that opportunity.

The beech limbs are still hanging on to their leaves while most all the other variety of trees let theirs fly in the winds of fall. People have habits that this time of year they would like to change. However, some hang on way beyond their time to go. Knowing it is time and believing in the purpose for letting go can help the transition.

I have found that when I focus on what I am grateful for, it translates into loving energy in my heart that can send out positive energy to attract other things I am grateful for. I totally believe that gratitude and positive energy can affect our lives.

We had been promised a January thaw for several days by the weather reporters and it has finally happened. It got me thinking about promises made and then what happens. With the cold winter weather I have a lot of time on my hands to gaze out the window and imagine faces created by Nature looking back at me. People that are consumed with fear could believe there is something negative trying to take them over, while others love to play with what they are experiencing. I love to imagine positive signs as a way of connecting to my heart.
