This will be India's 43rd site on the list and the first from the Northeast. He explained that Charaideo means "shining city on the hills." It was the first capital of the Ahom dynasty. The Ahom people traditionally kept the remains of their ancestors and their valuable belongings in Maidams. This recognition will boost tourism, attracting more visitors to this culturally rich site.
