  • God’s Great Love Casts Out Fear | Part One w Fern Nichols
    Sep 16 2024

“When you’re in the Word daily and see God’s love over and over again, it gets easier to immediately trust Him. And that then means the fear is not there. Fear is not of God because God is love.” Today we welcome Moms in Prayer Founder, Fern Nichols, back to the podcast. She has been in awe of the goodness of God’s love and shares how understanding this can completely transform our lives! God not only shows us His great love, He IS love. And that changes everything.

    ABOUT OUR GUEST

Fern Nichols is a former elementary school teacher and the founder of Moms in Prayer International, a prayer movement that mobilizes women around the world to gather together to pray for their children and schools. In 1984, Fern was fearful about sending her two eldest children off to junior high. She knew the school would be a battlefield for their hearts and minds. She realized the warfare would be intense and to fight in this battle she needed to invite other moms to pray. She called a mom and asked her to pray with her for their children and school. Her response was an immediate “yes,” and that was the humble beginning of Moms in Prayer that now spans the USA in every state and is in more than 150 countries. Fern has traveled to almost every continent in the world speaking, teaching and training women how to pray effectively. She and her husband Rle have been married for over 50 years. They were involved with Campus Crusade for Christ (now CRU) for 15 years. They have four children and 10 grandchildren.

We need have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly; his perfect love for us eliminates all dread of what he might do to us. If we are afraid, it is for fear of what he might do to us and shows that we are not fully convinced that he really loves us. 1 John 4:18 TLB

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand,

Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’ Isaiah 41:13 NASB

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 NIV

‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. Jeremiah 32:17 ESV

I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2 ESV

No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Romans 4:20-21 ESV

“God wants to take your fears and worries and transform them into mighty prayers. He wants you to be victorious in your life—not just you, but your children too.” Today we welcome back our President, Sally Burke, to share about the new Moms in Prayer theme! Listen in to hear what the ministry will be focusing on for the next two years. Here’s a little teaser: “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:10-12 ESVBe of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. So resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brothers and sisters who are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9 NASBRemember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; John 15:20a NASBin whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. • Beatitudes: Building Godly Character in Women | The Peacemakers w Janet Combs
    Jul 22 2024

“He is our peace. We have peace WITH God and we can have the peace OF God as we go through our ups and downs and struggles in life.” Today we continue in our series, Beatitudes: Building Godly Character in the Woman of God, by welcoming Moms in Prayer Board Member, Janet Combs. We dive into the seventh beatitude, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Janet reminds us of the peace we can find in our Savior despite the circumstances we are walking through. And also how we can be peacemakers in a world filled with turmoil because it is Him working in and through us.

The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.org

    ABOUT OUR GUESTS

Janet Combs is first and foremost a wife of 40 years, a mom of 5 and a grandma of 6. One daughter joined them as a young teen and has been an amazing blessing to the Combs family. Janet is a former special education and elementary teacher. While staying home with her kids, Janet spent decades teaching children at church, at VBS and at Good News Clubs. She also taught the teacher’s training for her local CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship). Over 20 years of Precepts Bible study with Kay Arthur has been a great inspiration for her to have a passion to go deep into God’s word. Another major influence in Janet’s life has been her family’s mission work for many years in Haiti. She joined Moms in Prayer years ago and is now a member of the Moms in Prayer Board of Directors. More recently, Janet has been involved in women’s ministry teaching.

    SCRIPTURES

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 ESV

For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 CSB

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Romans 5:1, 10 ESV

Everything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18 CSB

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.

Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus,

who, existing in the form of God,

did not consider equality with God

    as something to be exploited.

    Instead he emptied himself

by assuming the form of a servant,

taking on the likeness of humanity.

And when he had come as a man,

he humbled himself by becoming obedient

    to the point of death—

even to death on a cross. Philippians 2:3-8 CSB

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 NIV

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Romans 14:19 NIV

We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death. 1 John 3:14 CSB

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 ESV

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11 NIV

For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our[g] conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Hebrews 9:13-14 ESV

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?

“He wants me to be merciful like He is merciful, and not only be merciful, but to love mercy.” Today we continue in our series, Beatitudes: Building Godly Character in the Woman of God, by welcoming our Moms in Prayer Graphic Designer, Georgene Kamphuis. We dive into the fifth beatitude, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.” Georgene draws us into the merciful heart of our Father and shows us how we can extend that same mercy to those around us. It isn’t always what we give, but also what we withhold.

The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.org

    ABOUT OUR GUESTS

Georgene Kamphuis is a graphic designer on the Communications Team for Moms in Prayer International. She designs for web and print, creating images for the MIP website and products, event graphics, presentations, social media, and publications. After several years working in the corporate world as a designer Georgene became a full-time mom who freelanced from home. For a few years she volunteered to do graphics for MIP and then about 16 years ago joined their staff.

She was first introduced to Moms in Prayer in 1989 when she met another mom interested in praying for their children and the new elementary school in the neighborhood. She and her husband live in North San Diego County, California. Three daughters, their husbands, two teenage grandsons, and a three-year-old granddaughter keep her praying in a Moms in Prayer Group every week. There have been countless answers to prayer these 35 years of praying for her kids, their kids, and their schools.

Georgene loves gardening, reading, and keeping in touch with her friends. Working full-time for Moms in Prayer with other women with the same passion for prayer and Jesus hasn't been like working, but fun, and a gift from God.

    SCRIPTURES

Make the soul of Your servant joyful, For to You, Lord, I lift up my soul. For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all who call upon You. Psalm 86:4-5 ESV

“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9 ESV

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8 NIV

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16 NIV

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before You. Psalm 89:14 NASB

The LORD is merciful and gracious,

slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

    He will not always chide,

nor will he keep his anger forever.

He does not deal with us according to our sins,

nor repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

    so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;

as far as the east is from the west,

so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

As a father shows compassion to his children,

so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. Psalm 103:8-13 ESV

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38 NIV

  • Beatitudes: Building Godly Character in Women | Hunger & Thirst for Righteousness w Lorielle Agraso
    Jun 10 2024

“The God of the universe tells us to just bring our appetites and He will take care of the rest.” Today we continue in our series, Beatitudes: Building Godly Character in the Woman of God, by welcoming mom of three, Lorielle Agraso. We dive into the fourth beatitude, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Lorielle reminds us about the fullness of life that comes as we seek God and the things of Him. She helps us step away from the world and into the goodness of God.

The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.org

    ABOUT OUR GUEST

Lorielle Agraso is a follower of Jesus with a heart for revival and God's truth. She became a stay-at-home mom after her first of three was born. Her husband Gabe, is often traveling for work, and she found a deeper calling for her home and family as she learned to trust God in much of the solitary time. She was born and raised in Southern California, but recently moved to middle Tennessee, where the family has lived for almost 4 years. This was a big leap of faith, drenched in much prayer, but Lorielle found peace in surrendering what she once controlled, to dive deeper into what God was providing their family. They now live on 16 acres with 3 children (1 girl and 2 boys), 24 chickens, 6 ducks, 5 dogs and 2 kittens with hopes to add additional animals in the years to come. She loves growing her garden, cooking, trying new things and having friends and family over for game nights. Her faith has become her biggest adventure and each season she looks forward to the time spent with God as He plants new seeds and brings her into the next chapters He intends her walk to through.

    SCRIPTURES

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Matthew 5:6 ESV

Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors. Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Deuteronomy 8:1-3 NIV

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8 NIV

Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.” But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. John 4:31-34 NIV

    O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;

    my soul thirsts for you;

    my flesh faints for you,

as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,

and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, Psalm 63:1 & 5 ESV

You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies. Psalm 23:5a NIV

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. Romans 14:17-18 ESV
