  • Batman Forever/Val: You Will Be Missed
    Jun 30 2025

    Send us a text

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are appreciating one of the dearly departed greats. We watched both Batman Forever by Joel Schumacher and Val by Leo Scott and Ting Poo.

What better way to wrap up this month of Val Kilmer love than by watching one of the sillier Batman movies and one of the more heartwarming documentaries ever made? It’s a double feature that nobody ever saw coming.

We love him. We respect him. We miss him. This one was for you, Val.

  • Felon: When Your Life Is Defined by a Single Action…
    Jun 23 2025

    Send us a text

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are trying to survive in one of the worst places ever. We watched the 2008 film from Ric Roman Waugh, Felon.

If, for some crazy reason, you needed some defining evidence why you don’t ever in a million years want to end up in prison, then throw on this film. Talk about a perfect “scared straight” movie. Sheesh!

But it’s got a hell of a Val Kilmer role. We’re continuing our month of Val love with a likely little seen performance by one of the greats. Like usual, it’s powerful, it’s intimidating, and it’s heartbreaking.

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean have found themselves stuck in a sticky East Germany situation. We watched the 1984 film from Jerry Zucker, David Zucker, and Jim Abrahams, Top Secret!

I totally get why everyone in the world would swoon over Nick Rivers. He’s got the talent to back up the astonishing looks. If there’s anybody who could save the world from doom, it’s that hip-swinging pretty boy.

We’re continuing our month of Val Kilmer love with his very first big movie. It’s a blast from moment one. Enjoy this one as much as we did!

  • Tombstone: I’m Your Huckleberry
    Jun 9 2025

    Send us a text

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are just trying to make fresh, happy lives for themselves. We watched the 1993 film from George P. Cosmatos, Tombstone.

Here it is: the one that our dear Val should have won the Oscar for. Is there any other western movie character as timeless or indelible as his Doc Holliday? We think not! Stupid Academy voters. You messed up big time!

Here at More Movies Please!, we’re continuing to give this incredible actor the praise and love that he deserves. Enjoy all the tiny cup-twirling action in this one.

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are remembering one of the greats: Val Kilmer. We watched the 1988 film from Ron Howard, Willow.

Don’t you hate it when you’re just trying to live a quiet, normal life, plowing your fields and loving your family, and you’re suddenly tasked with going on a grand adventure to keep an evil witch from killing an innocent baby?

I know I do. Who knows if I’d have the courage and gumption to face that task head-on like Willow does. One thing’s for sure—it makes for a heck of an adventure tale!

  • Big Trouble in Little China: Not as Racist as You Would Expect
    May 26 2025

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are traveling deep underground to stop an ancient ghost-sorcerer. We watched the 1986 film from John Carpenter, Big Trouble in Little China.

Anybody here reading have dazzling green eyes? Our suggestion to you is either get colored contacts or get ready to do battle against Lo Pan, the most fearsome Chinese sorcerer this side of whatever the heck city this movie takes place in.

Wait, are we to believe that the city is actually called “Chinatown”? All right. This is our monthly B-movie after all. Listen on to discover how we rate this, ahem, unique movie.

  • She’s Gotta Have It: A Three-Headed, Six-Armed, Six-Legged, Three-Penis Monster
    May 19 2025

    Send us a text

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are learning a lot about what it takes to be a decent guy. We watched the 1986 film from Spike Lee, She’s Gotta Have It.

Honestly, I’m not joking about that first sentence. I believe that Steven and I are nowhere near as bad as Jamie, Greer, and Mars. Watching them is enough to send a chill down one’s spine. They are a cautionary tale to men everywhere.

Nola deserves better than them, and I hope that one day she finds it. What we did was find and talk about a phenomenal director’s excellent first film. Enjoy!

  • The Hitcher: Stranger Danger!
    May 12 2025

    Send us a text

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean should have just kept on driving. We watched the 1986 film from Robert Harmon, The Hitcher.

I’m sure that all of us were told that we should never in a million years pick up a hitchhiker from the side of any road. But what if that hitchhiker… is you? And you’re out for blood!

To continue celebrating Sean’s (that’s me!) birthday month, we’re venturing deep into the clearly indie film world of the ‘80s. It’s going to be thrilling, intense, and pretty damn terrifying.
