    Canada has seen a sharp decline in happiness rankings, falling to 25th out of 147 countries in the 2026 World Happiness Report, its worst result ever. Ten years ago, it ranked 6th. What's causing this? A new Canadian report finds AI systems are using journalism but rarely crediting it. A recent experiment found that AI provided no source attribution 82% of the time when answering questions based on news content.
