    Max is internationally known for her expertise in ancient Goddess iconography; matrilineal cultures, female spheres of power; and female shamanism. Max’s first book is called Witches and Pagans: Women in European Folk Culture. She has also contributed to many books including a chapter on shamanism in Psychedelic Mysteries of the Feminine. She’ll publish another book later this year.


    Max is a pioneer in her area and has uncovered many unique insights into women’s history through her decades of work. We enjoyed her candor and passion and are certain you’ll come away with something new.

    Riane is internationally known for her groundbreaking contributions as a systems scientist, futurist, and cultural historian. She is author of many books, including popular The Chalice and the Blade, now in its 57th US printing and 27 foreign editions. She also authored The Real Wealth of Nations, hailed by Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu as “a template for the better world we have been so urgently seeking”. She is the recipient of the Distinguished Peace Leadership Award and is currently President of the Center for Partnership Systems. We are thrilled to have her join us on the podcast.

The ground of all her work is a deep interest in the spiritual, mythological, shamanic and artistic traditions of different cultures.
