  • The tale of the notorious bandit Ratnakar transforming into the sage Valmiki is a profound narrative in Indian Vedic literature. In ancient times, Ratnakar was a fearsome dacoit who, along with his gang, terrorized the forests and robbed travelers. One day, the revered sage Narada passed through the forest despite warnings about Ratnakar. When confronted by the bandit, Narada remained calm and fearless. Intrigued by Narada's fearlessness, Ratnakar engaged in a conversation with him, which ultimately led to Ratnakar's realization of his sins and transformation into the sage Valmiki, the author of the epic Ramayana.
