    David Hundeyin is widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s foremost investigative journalists. He’s broken numerous stories on his independent platform West Africa Weekly; including ‘Cornflakes for Jihad: The Boko Haram Origin Story’ and ‘Bola Ahmed Tinubu: From Drug Lord to Presidential Candidate’. He’s renowned internationally as one of the few journalists in Nigeria and Africa who speak truth to power and hold the powerful accountable. He has also received numerous awards, including the GRC and Anti-Financial Crime Reporter of the Year 2021 and again in 2022; and the People Journalism Prize for Africa 2020. David is also the 2023 Distinguished James Currey Fellow at the University of Cambridge and the author of ‘The Jungle: A Personal Journey with the Enfant Terrible of Nigerian Journalism’ and ‘Breaking Point: A Journalist’s Quest for Salvation in Nigeria’s Chaos’. In this episode, we discuss the ongoing protests in Kenya and its similarities with the EndSars protests.     Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka is a Nigerian playwright, essayist, novelist and poet. Amongst a plethora of numerous national and international awards, he is also the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. An inspiring figure to millions all over the world, it was an honor to have him on the podcast.     Professor Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu OON served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from 2009 to 2014. As Deputy Governor, he led the implementation of reforms that stabilised Nigeria’s banking sector after the global financial crisis as well as spearheading payment sector reforms such as the introduction of the Bank Verification Number (BVN). He was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank of Nigeria (NEXIM Bank). He previously worked extensively in the United Nations system. After his tenure at the CBN he was appointed Professor of Practice in International Business and Public Policy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University in Boston, USA. He is also the founder of Sogato Strategies LLC, a global strategy and risk consultancy in Washington DC. He was the presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Nigeria’s 2019 general elections, but subsequently quit partisan politics and returned to professional life. Prof. Moghalu is the author of ‘Emerging Africa: How the Global Economy’s Last Frontier Can Prosper and Matter’ amongst several other books and articles. In this episode, Prof Muoghalu and I discuss his upbringing, the Civil War, the economic challenges Nigeria faces, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the Rwandan Genocide and a myriad of other issues.
