  • "My mother-in-law is the worst person on the planet. On Wednesday night, we invited the family out to (local restaurant) to celebrate my daughter's 12th birthday. Everyone bought presents. I was stunned when my daughter opened my mother-in-law's gift. She bought her a scale. Everyone at the table gasped. I can't believe she bought a scale for a tween. That has to be the worst gift ever. My mother-in-law says it's a great gift because my daughter can monitor her weight and this in turn will make her a healthier person. I totally disagree and think the gift is going to make my daughter self-conscious. The family is divided over the gift because they don't want to offend my mother-in-law. What is your opinion on this? Good gift or bad gift?"
