EPISODE TEN - ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL 2024

Introducing our first GUEST HOST to celebrate hitting double digits. Brittany Daw, got behind the microphone to speak to members of all three companies Galleon Theatre Group, Deadset Theatre Company and St Jude’s Players Inc. Featuring Interviews with Andrew Clark, Director of The Last Act is a Solo, Maisie Hart, CAST of Romeo & Juliet, Kim Clark, Rhonda Grill and Sam Wiseman CAST of Red Peppers.

Food and beverages will be available one hour prior to each performance. All 3 plays will feature at each performance, and there will be 3 performances:

Saturday 15th June - 2pm and 7:30pm

Sunday 16th June - 2pm

St Jude's Players is hosting it and each session will include the full program of three One Act Plays:

St Jude's Players' production in the One Act Play Festival is Red Peppers, by Noel Coward, directed by Geoff Brittain.

Described as 'An Interlude with Music', Red Peppers tells the story of a faded song and dance husband and wife double-act going through their nightly routine of make-up and bickering, largely about their act, their place on the bill and the management of the theatre. This cauldron of 'artistic bliss' is sandwiched between two music-hall numbers played front-of-curtain.

Cast: Kim Clark as George Pepper, Rhonda Grill as Lily Pepper, with Norm Caddick (Bert Bentley), Sam Wiseman (Mr Edwards), Olivia Jane Parker (Mabel Grace) and Liam James (Alf).

St Jude's Players Inc celebrates 75 years of producing quality productions for Adelaide audiences.

Galleon Theatre Group is presenting The Last Act is a Solo by Robert Anderson, directed by Andrew Clark.

Laura Cunningham, once a star, lives amid costumes, props and memories of her career. Too frail to act, she remains fiercely independent and resists her nephew's attempts to move her to the country where she can be cared for. In fact, she has an interview that very afternoon with a theatre director. How will this affect her life?

Olympia Dukakis, Edward Herrmann and Gavin MacLeod starred in a broadcast on Arts & Entertainment Network. This haunting, beautiful play by one of America's foremost playwrights will amuse and move any audience.

Cast: - Julie Quick as Laura Cunningham, Steve Marvanek as Ben Cunningham & Kym Clayton as Michael Jones.

Deadset Theatre Company will stage an adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, directed by Chloe Zodrow.

Cast: Lila Modra as Juliet, Callum Logan as Romeo, Finty Mcbain as Lady Capulet, Archie Rowe as Tybalt, Harri Wolff as Mercutio & Maisie Hart as Nurse Capulet.
