  • I THINK MYSELF HAPPY!!! How to combat negative thoughts | Janet Swanson
    Jun 17 2024
Janet shares with you some things she has learned throughout the years about how to combat negative thoughts that brought healing to her heart. Hey you guys. I am going to share with you some things I have learned throughout the years, but... also... something that I just read that the HOLY SPIRIT BROUGHT LIGHT AND REVELATION! I THINK MYSELF HAPPY!!! Acts 26:1-3 New King James Version Paul’s Early Life 1 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You are permitted to speak for yourself.” So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself: 2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews, 3 especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which have to do with the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently. I gave a short a synopsis of Acts 25-27 Everywhere Paul went resulted in conflict, opposition, resistance, but because Paul made a habit of THINKING HIMSELF HAPPY….it changed the course of negativity to something positively powerful. Miracles followed him everywhere he went. Now…I told that story in the Bible because…..Paul stated to the person who was throwing him in prison that he was a blessed man to stand before him. He was fortunate and blessed…..because of how he restructured his thoughts. I want to spend a little time on this because anxiety heightened to extreme levels to where now suicide is at an all time high. The Bible says we need to “renew our minds” Romans 12:2 We demolish arguments, pretensions, assumptions and take captive every thought! 2 Corinthians 10:5 THE BIBLE HAS A LOT TO SAY ABOUT OUR THOUGHTS! Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Matthew 12:34-40 New King James Version (NKJV) For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. So…let’s take a look at ANXIETY THAT has controlled us for far too long IN OUR THOUGHTS! Anxiety is rooted in fear. Fear has 3 components: InsecurityHelplessnessIsolation Anxiety can be found in all three of these ways: SpiritualMentalPhysical You are a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body. When your spirit collides with the Holy Spirit….now you have what is called FAITH! Now…your spirit (faith) in convincing your soul to BELIEVE that you are who God says you are, you can have what God says you can have, and you can do what God says you can do! As a born again believer, Christian…you are not obligated to give and give and give until there is nothing left. This is man’s way of thinking that if I give then God will be pleased with me. God did not say give and give and give until you are completely drained. The lie is: I have to give until I am completely drained and this is the way of the Christian life and this is what it means to lay my life down for Jesus. The Truth is: I am obligated to do the will of God. Period. Nothing less and nothing more. God does not drain me, but He fills me up! To do His perfect will results in laying my life, my will, down for what He wants! You FIGHT, AND COMBAT THE LIES BY PUSHING BACK WITH THE TRUTH! TODAY I AM BELIEVING THAT STRONGHOLDS OF NEGATIVITY, ANXIETY, FEAR AND INSECURITY WILL BE PULLED DOWN, AND BROKEN OFF YOUR LIFE! I WANT YOU GUYS TO KNOW THE BATTLE IS NOT IN YOUR HEART…IT’S IN YOUR MIND. Paul didn’t say, “I feel myself happy” He said, “I THINK myself happy” even when he was faced with death. Even when Jesus was faced with death in Hebrews 12:2 tells us very clearly: “… who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” This verse says Jesus focused on “the joy” that was set before Him as He endured the Cross. His thoughts were SET ON YOU AND ME that caused Him to endure the cross. So, remember, your feelings will deceive you, and it will infiltrate in and through your work, your finances, your relationships and the promises that God has for you. Your mental health is not built in your heart and your feelings. It is built on your thoughts. Listen to all this week’s podcast on how to combat negative thoughts!

  • Why am I suffering so bad? Janet Swanson
    Jun 10 2024

Janet’s gives a Word of Encouragement from John 16:33 and I Peter 5:1-10

Hey you guys! The Lord as put this word in my heart just for you. I don’t know why, but maybe you’ve been asking the question, “why am I suffering so bad? How long do I have to suffer?”

Maybe you’ve been telling yourself this, “I’m doing the will of God, I’m a good person, I pay my tithe, I go to church every Sunday, I’m reading my Bible

    But…GOD….

    I’m still suffering

    Why?

    LET’S DIVE IN TO

    John 16:33 & I PETER 5:1-10

THIS IS OUR FOCUS FOR TODAY!

1 Peter 5:1-10 New American Standard Bible

10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

    Greek perfect/restore

2675/katartizō (literally "adjust down, exactly") refers to parts working precisely together – fulfilling their intended purpose (potential)" because properly adapted (adjusted).

[The root word expresses what is "joined together" in proper adjustment. It means to frame all the parts into an over-all design – so that each part works together "in good order”.

2675 (katartizō) (perfect or restore) is "used of reconciling factions, setting broken bones, putting a dislocated limb into place, mending nets" For example when you have a dislocated shoulder, you go to the ER and the doctor will pop it back in place. It’s painful when it’s out of place, and it’s more painful to pop it back in place. The bone is now set in its proper place so that it can heal.

What Paul was saying, after you have suffered a little while, the Lord will adjust you, move you around, put you back in your proper place so that you can function and be in good working order to fulfill the plans that He has written over you life.

    Greek confirm

stērízō: ”a support to fix, plant down";"stand," to set fast or fix you; give you support which secures (firmly establishes); solidly plant (to eliminate vacillation). He will cause you to be rooted, fixed, planted, and make you stable.

Strengthen in Greek: , make strong to make mobile, i.e. able to move in a way that achieves something effective. (sthenoō) only occurs in 1 Pet 5:10 of "refusing to be turned away (overpowered).”

Established is to be grounded on a solid foundation

In this verse, Peter is making closing remarks to churches in Asia Minor. He affirms that the suffering won't last forever, and that God has plans for people in Christ that are eternal and glorious
