  • Season 4.4 - An interview with best selling author Sunyi Dean and the most incredible WW 2 battle you've never heard of!
    Jun 8 2024

    Welcome back!

Sorry for the delay, we've been focusing on a new format and preparing some back cataologue material, but from here on, we are back with a regular release bang!

Logan is flying solo in this episode, interviewing USA Today and Sunday Times best selling author Sunyi Dean about her recent hit, The Book Eaters.

They discuss her writing process, motivations, future plans, whether she'd like to have a time machine or teleporter and does Sunyi believe in ghosts?

It's a really fun, wide ranging interview that covers more than the usual boring chit chat and provides plenty of laughs and some very moving poetry, to boot!

Finally, in an OSD tribute to D Day, Logan talks about the most incredible battle of WW2 that you've never head of - how they haven't made this into a film is a complete mystery. If you want to hear about the time the Germans and Americans fought together to protect a village and some prisoners of war from being murdered just days before the war ended, you do NOT want to miss this story!

Join us, and enjoy another episode of the only podcast that makes you feel like you're in the room...Only Slightly Drunk.

  • Season 4.3 - The Only Slightly Dating LIVE Speed Dating Special!
    Apr 24 2024

Here it is! This is the one we know you've been waiting for.

In December, the OSD team held a party and recorded live while it was happening, and it worked brilliantly.

So we decided to do it again - hold a live event, record in the middle of it, and see what happens!

To that end, we worked with The Hideaway Cafe in Highland Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, to hold a speed dating event at their venue and record a podcast while it was going on.

During the event, people could chose to sit down with us and tell us their best, worst, scariest, funniest, craziest dating stories!

    This recording is the result.

    And. It. Was. GOLD.

The atmosphere was great, the booze flowed, the music played, the OSD gang were joined by friend of the show Abi, and some of the stories we got from the dating atendees will make you laugh until it hurts, and also, at times, shock you at just how weird - and even dangerous - people can be.

You do NOT want to miss this one, it's a classic!

  • Season 4.2 - Stripes on a tiger, gold and mysterious disappearances
    Apr 13 2024

Sorry for the delay, you can blame Logan…you’ll understand why when you listen to the episode.

Anyway, here we go again, and Johnny kicks off by telling us some more random but “interesting actually” TYO’s, including why tigers don’t just have striped fur.

Robbo then hits us with Bits of Space, explaining how gold is formed, and why it’s considered so very valuable…it’s one of his best yet.

Logan then leads the way with three very strange, very wild tales of mysterious disappearances. The stories will blow your mind as he asks the gang to postulate on what they think actually happened based on the evidence available at various points during the discussion.

As each story takes on several shocking twists and turns, the gang are shocked and forced to change their ideas on the truth as new facts and new evidence emerge.

This one isn’t to be missed!

It’s the weekend. Grab a drink and settle down to enjoy the only podcast where you feel like you’re in the room with us.

  • Season 4.1 - We're back! Would you lick a battery, can we time travel and great sporting comebacks
    Mar 13 2024

Yes! It's the moment you've all not been waiting for!

OSD is BACK for Season 4 of our lovely half cut goodness.

This episode may seem a little disjointed, as we decided to video it, but upon review we discovered that the video quality was a bit rubbish, so we're just putting the audio out there to welcome new fans and old.

Johnny kicks us off with TYO, and Logan decides to let the world know that he has, in the past, licked batteries. This will come as no surprise to most people, tbf.

Robbo hits us with a new format of Bits of Space, sharper, shorter and punchier, and he asks the questions - is time travel possible? And then goes back to last Tuesday to answer. Ithankyou.

We then let Eddie P lead us into our main subject, which is great sporting comebacks and redemption stories. Each of the gang chooses their own example and we get into some fascinating discussions about formula one, football and more.

Finally, its Bollocks or Not making it's return. Can Johnny end this new season as Champion again, or will Eddie or Robbo take him down?

We are up, up and away with a new season, starting here, and it's going to be wilder, more entertaining and more unpredictable than ever before.

Sit back and enjoy the only podcast that makes you feel like you're there in the room.

    Need entertaining? Need OSD.

  • Season 3.18 It's the OSD Christmas Party!
    Dec 23 2023

It's the season finale of OSD, and we're going out with a festive bang.

We recorded this show live in the middle of a Christmas party, with a rooms full of guest and festive songs playing in the background.

At various points, we invited whoever wanted to sit with us a chance to join in with the recording, and it's bloody brilliant. We talk about topics as varied as must have item on a Christmas dinner plate, guitars and even the spirit world.

Having so many different voices joining in gives this episode a really special vibe, it was a lot of fun to record.

At the same time, we the guests were playing various party games to win points, with the overall winner getting to take home the coveted OSD Christmas Party Champion!

This is it for us for Season 3 and 2023, but we will be back by March 2024 kicking off Season 4 and launching our YouTube channel.

Thank you to everybody who supported us and listened this year, we truly appreciate it.

From all of us at OSD Towers, we'd like to wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year x

  • Season 3.17 - OSD Three is now OSD Four...Chicago's nickname, The White Ship Disaster and The History of Ouija Boards
    Dec 14 2023

It’s nearly the end of the season, and it’s the penultimate episode!

To kick things off, we here at OSD Towers would like to welcome Eddie P as a permanent Host, rather than, as he always whined about before “first reserve”.

Johnny starts as usual with TYO, and among other things, we learn how long it would take a single droplet of water to travel the Mississippi river.

Robbo talks us through a meteor shower that’s occurring as we speak in Bits of Space, run outside now and see it! Then come back and keep listening.

Logan talks us through the interesting parts of the history of Henry I and covers the White Ship disaster, an event that changed the course of English history and directly led to the first English civil war.

Then we get to the main subject – Ouija Boards. How were they invented, how do they work, are they real, what’s their history and do the chaps believe they’re real? What famous person would each of them want to contact if they could, and more importantly, would they ever actually use one at all? And for the science minded among you, Logan explains how and why scientists believe that the only way they work is via human interaction, and there’s nothing paranormal to see here.

Finally, it’s Bollocks or Not, and if Robbo doesn’t win this week, the best he can hope for is a draw with Johnny in the race for the season title. And if Johnny wins, he’s champion with an entire episode to go. Tense or WHAT?!

If you want to know how much gold is in the middle of the earth and how deep it could cover the surface of the planet if we managed to extract it, whether we really did or didn’t have a King called Stephen (Stephen!) and if Eddie P believes in Ouija Boards or not, then grab a glass, sit down and enjoy another Only Slightly Drunk.

  • Season 3.16 - A Blue Whale's Heartbeat, The Rings of Saturn and The Mystery of Elisa Lam
    Dec 9 2023

After a much needed one week break, the chaps are back at OSD Towers, as we head towards the end of what's been a bumper and brilliant Season 3.

Johnny's TYO intrigues and entertains as usual, and among other things, he tells us exactly how far away you could get and still hear a Blue Whale's heartbeat.

Robbo's Bits of Space focuses on the rings of Saturn - if you've ever wondered what they're actually made of and exactly how they've ended up around the planet when others don't have them, then this is the week for you!

Logan moves on to the son of William the Conqueror with his usual off beat take on history, talking about William II - also known as William Rufus. Rumoured to have been an absolute sinner, fond of lust, booze and the pursuit of hedonism, he sounds like he would have been a superb OSD guest.

Finally, our main subject this week is all around the mystery of Elisa Lam. Eddie P steps up to boss his first hosting segment as he tells us all about the strange case of the young Canadian traveller who went missing in LA, leaving behind bizarre cctv footage and a enigmatic, head scratching puzzle. Does Eddie manage to take us on a journey through the mystery and make it entertaining and interesting? Guilty!

Finally, it's bollocks or not. We've got two episodes after this and a Christmas special (which won't feature Bollocks or not). Unless Robbo wins this week, he's got no chance of becoming the season champion. It's do or die for him. Can he do it?

Grab a glass, sit back and enjoy the only podcast that makes you feel like you're actually in the room.

  • Season 3.15 - Johnny's Phobia, Fat William The Conqueror and The Rise of Liverpool / The Demise of Man Utd
    Nov 17 2023

    It’s OSD time!

Eddie P is back again this week, but will he be bossing it? He’s going head-to-head with Logan in a discussion over the reasons for Liverpool’s resurgence and Man Utd’s decline, as Johnny plays host and keeps the debate on track.

Who wins? Who loses? Who cares? Not me. But we need you to listen to it, because the bar bill at OSD Towers is fecking huge and we need the cash.

Johnny also takes centre stage with a story all the way from Krakow about his close encounter with a salt mine and an attack of claustrophobia. This leads us nicely onto this weeks Bollocks or Not, in which Logan hits us with a slew of alleged phobias, some of which are real and some of which are not – the other chaps must guess which is which. With Robbo trailing 5-3, he needs the win this week – can he get it?

We’ve also got the usual Today Years Old, Bits of Space and Queens, Kings and Other Interesting Things.

So, if you want to know what the oldest sporting rivalry in the United States is, just how disgracefully huge the star Betelgeuse is and why William the Conqueror had one of the most bizarre funerals in history, pour a drink, sit down and join us.

OSD. It’s like you’re in the room.
