  • Con Artists
    Jul 3 2024

Join Jack and Mark on this instalment of Ordinary Observations as they take a look at the World of fraudsters and scammers, crooks and forgers, this time on K103 its an investigation into some of the famous con artists through the years. We sit on the bench and feign injury with Carlos Raposo, the footballer who never played football, through his 26 year career of partying and socialising. We get trapped in the Heene's homemade flying saucer above the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, and ask where was their son Falcon at this time? We crack open the expensive bottles of rare vintages and learn about vertical tastings with Master's of Wine inside Hardy Rodenstocks vast cellars. And we forge cheques and wire transfers with Anna Delvey, or was it Anna Sorokin to fund her lavish New York lifestyle. All this and more on Ordinary Observations.

  • Aliens
    Jun 27 2024

Join Mark & Jack as we adorn our spacesuits and blast off on the hunt for extraterrestrial life. Jack gives us the rundown on the history of Area 51 and how it became the centrepiece of innumerable conspiracy theories. We also meet some of the interesting characters who have really added rocket fuel to the space-being fire that is our favourite secret US Air Force testing facility - Bob Lazar who claims to have been responsible for the reverse engineering of a sports model flying saucer, and Captain Bill Uhouse who was one of the lucky few to meet 'J-Rod', a real life alien who survived his UFO crash and was subsequently employed by the US Department of Defence. Mark talks us through the bizarre turn of events which led to Mexican Congress being shown the corpses of two 'real life' beings from a galaxy far far away. We delve into the accusations of crashed spaceships and government cover ups that came to be known as the Roswell Incident, and to wrap it all up we attempt to answer one of the most pressing scientific questions of all time - Just why are aliens so interested in anal probing? All this and more this time on Ordinary Observations.

  • Cruise Ship Calamity
    Jun 7 2024

Join Mark and Jack as they once again welcome Captain Anton onto the show, this time to discuss a little nautical naughtiness aboard the comically large cruise ships that patrol our oceans. Jack poses some tough logistical questions in his recount of 'The Poop Cruise From Hell'. Anton walks us step by step through just how Salty Seaman Francesco Schettino managed to create a 35m hole in the hull of his ship, The Costa Concordia. And Mark goes deep into the bowels of the ship, looking for dead bodies and a lack of ice cream. It later becomes clear the fellas have been paid off by two opposing sides of the climate lobby, but this ideological discrepancy is nothing that can't be fixed by stripping off for a little nude cruising together, aboard Bare Necessities Cruises. Listen in for all this and more, this time on Ordinary Observations.

  • High Fashion
    May 22 2024

Join Jack and Mark as we lace up our boots and take a stroll through the walk-in-wardrobe of high fashion & high society. We powder our wigs and duck though the doorway of 17th century class structures. We deliberately rot our teeth to flex our exuberant wealth. We fold up our ruffs and choke ourselves in the name of clean collars and good posture. All while tiptoeing around in our hobbled skirts to prove just how far removed we are from the working class. Listen in for all this, plus a few opinions from our rather suave listenership.

We recount the dark history of Nazino Island and the horrors endured by those forced to relocate there. We will go through Sir Isaac Newton poking needles into his eyes, follow up on Charles Darwin’s dietary habits, and discuss Albert Einstein’s blatant disregard for the sacredness of marriage. Did Werner Heisenberg trick the Nazi’s into giving up on the atomic bomb? Or did he just not understand the science well enough? We let the cat out of the box on Erwin Schrödinger and recount the triumph and tragedy of the life of Marie Curie. All this and more on this episode of Ordinary Observations.
