About Melissa: I’ve been a professional holistic practitioner since 2016, and performed intuitive readings for clients for over 7 years. My gifts of sight started at a very early age with a high learning curve! After years of training with other like-minded experts, in not only Reiki, but energy healing, intuitive readings, shamanic practices, angel readings, meditation and channeling; I’ve learned to share my experience through a combination of services and education.

I believe in healing the mind, body, and soul in order to better connect not only with yourself, but with others as well. Thus creating a more balanced and grounded sense of self. I'm a passionate healer excited to awaken the healer that exists within each person.

Bobbi Ryan is the director of the Dr. Best House and Medical Museum open the doors for Melissa and I to learn about the amazing home and speak with the spirits.

Throughout the interview we had several physical examples of the paranormal activity - there was a picture frame that was swaying back and forth throughout the entire interview and another example was when Melissa was wrapping up one of the medical pamphlets shut closed.

The Historic Dr. Best House and Medical Museum

As if awaiting the return of Dr. Best from a house call on his horse-drawn carriage, this Victorian home and medical office captures the elegance of the turn of the century. Serving a small-town American community from 1884 to 1991, the Dr. Best collection echoes reminders of a quickly changing era. 

Civil War, railroad and telephone artifacts all reflect the character of this family of pioneers and visionaries. The expansive and unique collection includes thousands of bottles, automotive memorabilia, clothing and quilts, to name a few as well as the fully stocked period kitchen and state-of-the-art medical equipment.

The Best House, which is located at 1568 Clauverwie Road in Middleburgh, New York,  served as home and office to two generations of country doctors over a period of 100 years.

It is normal to be nervous when doing something new. If you haven't had a reading, it's natural to be curious, afraid or skeptical. Take some time to prepare for your time together.

In today's episode we focus on the different types of readings and what the differences may be. 

• Tarot Reading: tarot cards tend to have a "traditional structure" to the deck and common meanings. Most tarot decks are based on the original Rider-Waite deck. As a result most tarot decks share common themes and messages. Tarot Card usually have 78 cards within a deck.
• Oracle Cards:  they are really "free-flowing". They tend to be very broad and can be interpreted in many different ways and can contain many types of content. An oracle deck can be as little as 10 cards or quite large with 100 cards. 
• Palmistry: it comprises of services in which the reader examines your palm so they can learn further about your predicted future, past as well as upcoming occurrences. The lines carved on your palms are said to provide information about specifics of someone's life. 
• Numerology: involves the use of numbers. These may be significant numbers like our date of birth, anniversaries, examination dates, or numbers that you encounter throughout the day. For example you may see a repeating number pattern that may hold meaning to you. 
• Aura Reading: the aura is like a mirror that reflects our ideas and feelings. An aura is described as an electromagnetic field that surrounds a person’s body and is associated with their energy—and while it can actually be *seen* by certain people, it can be *felt* by everyone.
• Astrology:  is generally defined as the belief that astronomical phenomena, like the stars overhead when you were born or the fact that Mercury is in retrograde, have the power to influence the daily events in our lives and our personality traits.
• Runes:  They were used for divination and as a means of contacting other planes of existence. Runes can be carved into wood, bone, shells, paper and stone. They can also be engraved onto metals such as silver and gold and worn as jewelry.
• Psychic Reading: relating to or denoting faculties or phenomena that are apparently inexplicable by natural laws, especially involving telepathy or clairvoyance. There are many types of psychics. 
• Psychic Medium: Mediums bridge the gap between the living and the deceased. There are many different types of mediums.
