This feeling is called grief, which is a universal emotion connected to the sense of loss. In this discussion, our expert guest, Della, sheds light on this complex experience. We explore the various stages of grief, from denial to acceptance and everything in between. Using the metaphor of a lost goldfish, we aim to illustrate these phases as part of a lifelong process of understanding and accepting loss.

We also talk about unexpected losses, such as the death of a beloved celebrity, which can trigger grief. In such cases, mental health services can help when the grief becomes overwhelming. Della also provides valuable insights into how to discuss death and grief with children. The key is to be present, and honest, and use age-appropriate language while allowing them to express their emotions freely. We also discuss the role of funerals in commemorating a loved one's life.

Toward the end of the discussion, we focus on coping with the loss of a loved one and the crisis of faith that may follow. Della advises on the importance of patience, grace, and honesty in finding your way in your new normal.
