  • My name is Paola Alvarez. I am born and raised in Puerto Rico. I studied Biotechnology in the University of Puerto Rico Ponce Campus. Then studied the Speech Language Pathology Masters in the University of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campus. I was chosen for an internship in NYC the summer before the COVID-19 pandemic started. I spent a month in NYC learning and working on my clinical practice. Graduated during the pandemic. I worked in the school and clinic setting with face shields and many other anti-covid protocols for a year. I heard about virtual therapy and decided to investigate it and apply for some virtual jobs. I discovered the bliss of staying at home while doing the work I love. I have been working virtually for almost three years now and I love it. I am currently working in Alaska with the cutest caseload ever. I see myself doing virtual therapy for many more years.
